Next great goalie, hmm, I’d go with Wallstedt

Good call ^ ^ ^

Any idea on the 2022 draft for G-Men; rank? Top three maybe? Who/whom to look out for?
I haven't followed the prospect pipeline for a while unfortunately...

2022 is not a goalie draft, there’s no consensus n.1 and none are ranked super high, the best goalies usually start to appear at the end of the 2nd round/early 3rd in rankings. Topias Leinonen, Tyler Brennan and Sergei Ivanov seem to be the top 3

Thumbs Up!

Is Wallstedt in NHL next yr or AHL?
Good 2.08GAA in SWE currently | 11W | 10L |.915 Sv%

MINNY is playing well now and if he's ready...look out West Conf.!

Alex Steeves honestly should maybe be a Leaf regular in the bottom 6 by the 2022-2023 season. Specifically 3rd line LW.

I think hes a tad to good for the AHL lul.

I know he was meh during his 2 game callup but it was a bit to soon. With a full AHL season under his belt and hopefully no injuries lets see what he can do.

The best player in hockey is clear, so I ask:
Who is the next Andrei Andreyevich Vasilevskiy?

McJ was tracking my comments: 2G's tonight!

I would say do what NYR did with Shesterkin

Start him in the AHL and if he really impresses give him a shot. But if he is in the NHL next year (at any point) and really impresses RIP Holland moment

So we've got the Pain for Shane. Or the Plight for Wright.

Is next year just "Sh*tting the Bed(ard)"

Goal is like D, seasoning is best: see Cawh-ter Hart for reference on what NOT to do.
Thankfully MINNY is team D-strong as per Evason - that's how he rolls!!

Skinner/Wallstedt for 2023 would have been an intriguing pairing...

But Holland went for more offense...

San Jose getting Lambert (10 in your ranks) or Juraj Slafkovsky is my dream currently for the draft.

Also Nelson will be a great second round pick for almost any team - I think he’s worth the selection in terms of becoming a player with upside.

2nd? I have a hard time believing he slips past 25.

Was responding to MatthewsFan mock thread - I see as a first rounder but I think he had him early 2nd.

My bad. I really hope he isn't passed on a lot because of his size come draft day.

Absolutely could be a 1st rounder, seen him listed as low as 14 to as high as 34 (Bob Mackenzie). Love his game!

Yeah, Nelson is polarizing because he's small and I think his ceiling is a #2D but his floor is a lot lower, he's also a bit more of a project which makes it really hard to pinpoint where you'd put him

And the NHL is showing being just an OFD is quite difficult.

Add in small frame/ size and your odds of hitting is even lower.

You have to be an ELITE offensive talent (passing/ play creation and chance generation/ shooting) to excel at OFD. And if you aren’t you have make up in size or other areas/ transition your game to more two way which isn’t easy.

Guys like Brannstrom are currently struggling - not because he’s bad. But because he’s so extremely talented offensively that it would be shocking if he never lands a full time role. He shows it off every now and then how good he could be.
But at the same time… ever year Brannstrom seems to be trending into that direction of flopping.

Smaller forwards have it easier (in a different way, not saying it’s actually “easy” to be a small forward).
