I don't have the exact number in mind, but I think it's close to 58?

really, I had no Idea that was the case, what round would the pick be?

If you don’t sign your 1st round pick, you get a 2nd round pick exactly 1 round later as compensation

hes a legit josh anderson clone, impacts the game in almost every facet exepct for scoring lol

Josh Anderson isn't a "10th overall" player either, even in a re-draft of the horrible 2012 class.

What a killer draft we had last year (even without Mailloux included)

He was taken 24th, so 56th pick (24+32).
Only applies to 1st rounders playing in league with agreements with NHL (so no KHLers).
Also, since he is 1st rounder, he can still sign in NHL despite being under contract in Sweden.

(and ge was projected to go in 2nd/3rd).

Well based on this U18

Jiri Kulich stock just went up

He was subject to be a very late first to early second round pick. With his performance probs could see him go 15th OA

I don't think u-18 can really rise anyone's stock, if you're draft eligible and at the u-18's, you're most likely way above your peers and as such, being good there is kinda expected

Did you see him going into the first round before the U-18?

His stock will probably go up a bit but this does not make him a Top 15 pick.

mmm depends. Some Gm's take chances over others

Yzerman took Seider at 6 when people had him at 15-20

If a GM feels Jiri Kulich has enormous potential he may get taken at 15.

That was just different organisations having different draft boards. If anyone takes Kulich at 15, they had him that high (or slightly lower) before the U18s. He played great but 4 games shouldn't completely change your view of the player (which is also why I don't have Slafkovsky as high as others). Another example would be McTavish. He had a great U18 tournament which definitely made his stock raise among the fans and media. But Madden and the Ducks' scouting department probably had him very high on their draft board before that.

I think I had Kulich at 51, last time I did him, he seemed like someone who’d become a middle 6 player

Yep, exactly, you can take stuff away from a players limited performance ( u-18’s, WJC, Olympics, etc but their league play is fairly important as that’s where you can determine consistency and most attributes a limited viewing might not show )

I think I have Kulich in the low 30s or early 40s. Could rise a bit but Top 15 just seems like a huge reach.

15 is absolutely too high. But his performance in this tournament IMO gets him picked in the 1st round (25-32 range) His stock went up for sure. I am a big fan

This is pretty much exactly my take. 15 is way too high, but there are enough question marks with the guys in the 20-40 range (tiny, one-dimensional, bad seasons, injury concerns, Russian, etc.) that this could probably cement him going in the upper half of that range and being selected in the 1st round, rather than the early 2nd. I will say this 20-40 range does seem weaker than most years. I’m a pretty big fan of the top 12ish, and I think there are some very solid players rounding out the top 20 (guys like Howard and Gauthier in that tier), but after that point (don’t have an exact number yet but it seems like it’ll be around 20) the scouting reports seem very mixed for a lot of guys, whether it’s boom-bust guys (and the boom isn’t even that high) or stalled development, it just seems like a lot of players in this draft don’t have the floor OR ceiling of guys in that range in years past.

Just a ridiculous finish last night by Gignac.

Marlies lose in OT. Need Rochester to lose tonight or win their final game to make the playoffs.

Shoutout to McMann for setting a new rookie record.

Nicely done. I was very surprised where he got picked, IMO I thought Rossi was pick.

I will eat some crow now.

OHL year 1 - 12G 20A
OHL year 2 - 52G 37A

AHL year 1 - 2G 7A (15 games)
AHL year 2 - 25G 34A

Don’t count this kid out

Stat comps for AHL look very good as well. Can't wait for next year, think sabres have 3 players with a chance at the calder next year! Quinn, Power, Peterka
