So after extensive video watching and scouting reports

I would be okay with Toronto drafting one of these guys 25 OA

Isaac Howard
Ivan Miroshnichenko
Jiri Kulich
Owen Pickering
Luca Del Bel Belluz (His one flaw is something Marlies coaching staff are specialized in correcting)
Denton Mateychuk (A man can dream lul but based on recent play doubtful his original projection applies now)

Might add others but of this list Owen Pickering and Ivan Miroshnichenko are 2 guys I would heavily consider.

Yeah but he is still draft worthy or did he pull out of the draft?

If he didnt I say **** it the potential outweighs the current problem. Like Amirov let him recover and show the world what he is made of. As the guy was 2nd in U18 goals behind Michkov

Interesting take, and I’d probably agree if it were a late second round pick, but I don’t think I’d risk it in the 1st. Also, what is Del Bel Belluz’s one weakness

Other than needing to bulk up its Bell's skating

And we specialize in that

But as for Miroschnichenko yeah probs not happening unless either someone (like Dubas) potentially gambles or hes taken high second round (so if Dubas decides to trade down then who knows)

Idk man the sharks could definitely use another offensive dman with no defensive skills at all

I’ll hang myself;

Although I think Sheng is pushing dumb propaganda for his articles as I think Wilson Jr is aware of the problem of drafting more OFD d in the first.

Sure in the 3rd or 4th if it’s a BPA do it but I don’t need to go from Karlsson - Burns - Merkley to Karlsson Kniazev Merkley NewOFDDraftGuy

A) How do you take the rest of that interview seriously?

B) Is there like, y'know - stuff - in the toilet?

This will be the deciding factor. Slafkovsky 1st overall.

The Habs using questions about toilets in their interviews is quite possibly the craziest thing I’ve heard all year so far.

And literally this morning I learned Darren Dreger throws out the 14 pairs of underwear he travels with and then like the psycho he is; he buys 14 new and repeats that cycle for travelling. (this is straight from Dregers mouth on his show today)

Kinda hope they trade back unless someone unreal is dropping on the board. My ideal guys are:
1. Calle Odelius
2. Owen Beck
3. Gleb Trikozov
4. Ryan Chesley
5. Mattias Hävelid

Cavallin went 36-14-4 record with a .910 save percentage with the Flint Firebirds last season. OHL-best 36 wins.

Plays with Leaf prospect Braeden Kressler, so I’m guessing they got some good looks at him.

With Keith Petruzzelli, Dryden McKay, Joe Woll, and Erik Källgren all but assures Ian Scott is most likely won’t be back (he could possibly retire due to injuries also).

Keith had an excellent first year in the ECHL but struggled hard in the playoffs. Could see him play another year there. Possibly with Cavallin.

Will be interesting to see how this all shakes out

Where are all these goalies playing? Let's say that neither of Kallgren and Woll make the NHL this year, that gives you 5 goalies for the marlies and growlers. That's a log jam there. And as you said this is assuming Ian Scott will not be back (probably a safe assumption but you never know). So I guess they will start the year running 3 goalies on the marlies until an injury? A little odd but I guess having more goalies as opposed to less is a good thing.

Just guessing but I could see:
Growlers
Petruzzelli
Cavallin

Marlies
McKay
Woll

Leafs
Källgren
Player X

Ian Scott last player competitive hockey in 2018 (5 games in 2020) I feel pretty confident he is done with the Leafs. But I would love to see him try with another organization if he still can.

Or we could see Woll traded for a late pick this year. But agreed, it’s a log jam

Isn't McKay suspended for a couple of months anyways?

I hope we aren’t having Kallgren as the backup. We’ve tried shoving unproven backups into that role ever since Dubas joined the leafs and it hasn’t worked. But I could definitely see a world where you are right.

IMO Kallgren earned himself a longer look with the Leafs. He proved himself in the SEL and did not look out of place in his first stint this year. It is sooooo hard to predict what goalies are going to pop out of nowhere (Husso) Go look at Ville’s and Erik numbers pretty similar after their 1st go around in the NHL. Have no idea if Kallgren can pop like him but I am ok with the Leafs going with the Devil you know instead of the one you don’t.

They absolutely need to decide if they want Campbell next year or funding a new #1 but having Erik as the backup is ok with me.

HUSSO (2020-21) 9-6-1 Wins .893 SV% 3.21 GAA 1 shutout 27.86 XGA .815 HDSV%

KALLGREN (2021-22) 8-4-1 Wins .888 SV% 3.31 GAA 1 shutouts 22.62 XGA .771 HDSV%

Disclaimer: not saying he is the next Husso but predicting goalies is hard.
