Scandella actually works pretty well as a cap move in a trade because his buyout after this season is really good. But I'd suspect it would cost an extra later round pick in any trade.

Buying out a player only prolongs the cap. It shouldn’t even be an option for the ducks. Zegras and Terry are going to get paid. Drysdale might not get the big contract but he’ll get a solid raise too. The ducks will need every penny after next season.
