The moves are decent and I like all the players involved but I have doubts that:

1. Seattle wouldn't rather keep Appleton over having Compher. That deal is asking Seattle to take on more salary for an older player with term left on his deal so even if Seattle would trade the player, they'd probably want a decent pick or prospect to take JTC; you might be better off asking for Jarnkrok
2. Ottawa would trade Zub - he's a younger guy who's played well for them and has another year to UFA; maybe they'd be tempted by the picks but I get the feeling they'd rather keep the player
3. That Joe would ship out Helm; while he's been just okay, he's 4th line insurance and "veteran presence" which we know the brass prizes

Again, I like the moves but, outside of the Giroux trade, I'm not sure they're terribly realistic.

Zub would be a fantastic partner for Girard, and has a low caphit for 2 playoff runs. That said I doubt Dorion has any intention of moving him for anything less than a mindless overpayment.

Overall some interesting ideas. Appleton is an interesting depth guy who Avs might like. I don't envisage that Sakic will want to have this much roster turnover at the deadline though (ie. 3 roster players out, 4 in).

Yeah definitely don't see this much turnover, likely just Giroux and then a D if Byram isn't likely to be back. I didn't think Zub would move but Seravelli listed him as a piece Ottawa would move, so maybe

If he's available there will probably be a bidding war. A top 4 shutdown RHD at $2.5m for 2 playoff runs is Coleman-esque value.
