Greiss' numbers haven't been great with Detroit from when I last checked. I'd rather trade away Varly for draft picks & a goalie rental this season in order to get a veteran goalie this off season + some good stuff in the draft (because this draft is supposed to be the best since 2015 & we all know that class is the best of the best)

Oh yeah, that's why I said my heart is pulling for Greiss and not my head, haha. I think that moving Varlamov is a great way to retool for a better run in 2022-23, unless the rumors about Sorokin really wanting another Russian around are as big a deal as some people have made it out to be.

He would be the perfect replacement for Danault that we miss awefully...

You might be right about the cap space. But it all very confused with Price's injury right now. Hugues would try to make space (too many wingers) for a 2 way center for sure.

They've got money tied up in Suzuki and Dvorak at center too. Making a move for a 29 year old center with 4 more years on a contract having a down year. I think some team should take a shot on him, but Montreal isn't in the right spot to do so.

and what do you think Campbell would make? 5?

If he reaches FA I bet you Edmonton gives him at least 6.5

Campbell will make probably double that. You don’t get an elite goalie for that cheap as a backup

Campbell gets way more money, yeah adding Boeser and Copp to those deal. Cap is staying flat next season. And good look with the Barzal contract adding Boeser and Copp to the payroll.
