Bouchard has been putting up good stats while being on an Oilers defence that’s meh, Dobson’s been playing good on the Isles but he’s under Trotz so I’m not sure how that factors in, I’m sure Isles fans can comment on that, Boqvist has been one of CBJ’s best D’s but he’s a bit more sheltered than Bouchard, I’d say he still has the highest ceiling among that list

Dobson has been as sheltered as Boqvist surprisingly

Weird cause Dobson has been playing 22mins in his last 5 games . That does not seem to be in the category of sheltered

Last year and the year before yes he was sheltered. Now not so much as when you play 22mins thats top 4 minutes.

His offensive to defensive zone start % was more what I was looking at, starting +60% of the time in the ozone, just like Boqvist.

How is Dobson sheltered?

He's not, I wasn't reading the right stat. I thought I had 5v5 selected but it was actually all ice time when I was looking at zone %. Dobson's Power play time I think drags his offensive zone % start to over 60.

Bouchard has been the better of the 3 this season at even strength because of his ability to drive play offensively, he’s been ok on the PP, pretty bad defensively. Hes already a top pair D, John Carlson 2.0 IMO

Dobson is above average at almost everything , he can drive play offensively , he’s pretty good defensively, solid on the PP. his elite skating ability allows him to draw a lot of penalties and he rarely takes penalties so his penalty differential is great. His style of play is similar to pietrangelo , overall his impact this season is that of a solid #3 defenseman, he’ll probably be the isles #1 by next season.

Boqvist has been very good offensively in a sheltered role this season, he’ll probably end up being an elite offensive defenseman in his prime. I don’t have a comparable for him but he has #1 D potential

Carlson 2.0 shouldn’t be a good thing. Mike Green 2.0 sounds better. Also where do you get the data from
