Yeah unfortunately you aren't close to value here. Leddy is worth maybe a third with retention and Arizona won't retain on him. Namestnikov is worth a third maybe more with retention, which Arizona won't do. McIsaac playing pro right now for a bit doesn't seem like he's anything special yet, I haven't given up on him but right now he might have the value of a late second early third. So basically you have 3 thirds and a good first for Chychrun. Not enough for Arizona.

It also doesn't make sense for us to trade for Chychrun, we aren't competing for the playoffs next year like you think.

Detroit fan and I wouldn't do it. A couple reasons...

1. Chychrun is overhyped and overpriced IMO. He left hand Hronek.
2. I wouldn't want to give up a 1st for someone that's not required. This time next year, we could have Edvinsson and/or Johansson playing meaningful minutes, and Edvinsson absolutely has a higher ceiling than Chychrun.

Detroit does that in a second but no way Arizona does. The first would hurt but that's about it.

As a Detroit fan, the 2023 1st is off limits unless that pick is Top 10 protected. The 2023 draft is deep and all it would take is for Larkin to get injured and Detroit is a lottery team. again. This is the Bedard, Michkov draft. There's also a ton of really good prospects in the top 10.

It is highly likely that at least 2 of those 4 names will not be top 4 defenseman, and basically guaranteed that 2 of those 4 will not be as good as Chychrun is at this point in his career.
