The Blues have less than zero use for Petry, and wouldn't do that utter nonsense even if they did need an RD.

These are all somewhat fair I'd say. Maybe replace the first in the Petry trade for a 2nd and another 3rd, just because he is in a major down year so his trade value has plummeted a good bit.

The Blues are arguably Petry's most likely trade destination. He was also a top 15 not too long ago as well and could thrive on a better team.

Canes aren’t trading Martinook, but take Marty out and you got a good base for the trade.

Yeah I know he's a big locker room but cap is tough and he fits for that.

Petry plays RHD. Blues have Parayko and Faulk as RHD. So why are the blues getting petry to play on the 3rd pairing. The blues have been reported in on LHD not RHD. Blues have not been in on Petry and have never been.

Hahahaha WHAT??? Parayko and Faulk eat up like 45+ minutes per night, and they just re-signed Bortuzzo. They have no need whatsoever for an RD, let alone a fast-fading, old-ass, expensive one whop is only good when he's contributing offense, which he has stopped doing.

Like where do you guys get this stuff? I'm genuinely, morbidly curious.

laugh Since when is St Louis most likely Petry's destination? He has stated more enough that he wants to be close to home near Michigan as possible. St Louis is over 700 miles from Detroit. fat chance i see Petry waiving for St Louis and with Faulk and Parayko they don't need Petry.

We don’t need a 3 RD and yes that’s what he’d be here
Also we don’t have the cap room for him
Now of you wanna take Scandella back and maybe let’s say make edmunson available I’ll do it

Retain more than 200k... or take back Stepan. There's ways around it, not trading the guy that took a home town discount to stay in Raleigh

But Chiarot will? Find that hard to believe.

I thought about this but it just doesn't make sense because then St Louis would be very weak down the left side. Petry is definitely a tough sell for the Blues and I agree that it is entirely possible that he either doesn't get traded or goes to a different team, like Dallas for example.

Yeah I totally agree that is probably isn't very likely that Petry goes to St Louis. He's a tough sell with that contract but if a team is really dead set on making a run I can see it happening. I doubt Yzerman makes a move for Petry tbh, but it's definitely possible.

Totally true, it's unlikely for sure. Dallas/Detroit might be other possible destinations.

Okay no need to freak out that much it's just an armchair gm post, I read an article with a bunch of possible destinations for Petry and I tried to work something out with one of the more unlikely destinations. I agree that he doesn't fit perfectly with the Blues but if they really want to make a run I could see it happening. Petry's contract isn't great and they might have to retain more if they want it to actually happen, I just retained the exact amount to make St Louis fit under the cap.

Yeah I'm aware and have been blasted for this like 10 times now. It's unlikely for sure but not totally impossible.

I guess the other moves aren't so bad because I've only been targeted for one of them really.

Heh. He does not fit at all. Not one iota. The exact opposite of a fit. And you tried to insist the Blues were "arguably Petry's most likely trade destination" - remember?

But do feel free to share the link to the article that imagined the Blues were even remotely a fit for Petry. I would love to see that. Thanks.
