The WSH trade is fine, but the others are all bad for the Canucks

Why not? He's an average 2C that likely won't age well with his playstyle.

Won't age well? Horvat has been getting better with age, just because he has one relatively pedestrian season doesn't mean he won't bounce back, and the entire league knows he is a well above average 2C

His season this year has nothing to do with my opinion that he won't age well. He plays a pretty meat and potatoes game which isn't bad but doesn't typically age well and he has had a ton of wear and tear on him even though he's relatively young still. I don't want him signed to 6+mil deal with term when he's going to be best suited for the 3rd line matchup role in his early 30s.

In several years time, 6 million AAV might be the normal cap hit for marquis 3C who play matchup roles, who knows, but one thing is for sure, Horvat can't ask for more than 6.5M AAV at this point in time

Fair point. I don't mind keeping him but I think you could get a really nice return for him that might be more beneficial in the long run. If they keep him I'd hope to see an RNH type deal where the AAV stays down with more term. Realistically I don't see the decision being made on Horvat until next year's deadline.

Because Horvat is a center and RNH is no longer a natural center and more a natural winger now, Horvat can argue that he deserves more than what Nuge makes

In which case I think we should trade Bo. Even with cap increases over time I'd rather the return from trading Bo than having him locked in at 6-6.5 mil.

I'd be comfortable locking up Bo in that number range, but it's cool to disagree
