That seems like a lot to give up for Thompson

What in the f*ck is that Thompson trade....Tage Thompson???

The value is solid, but for Buffalo it makes no sense to trade Thompson.

Give up all of those pieces, For a guy who has 32 points this season and meh the other seasons. don't think so Thompson isn't worth all of that.

Tage is having a good season but he's not worth that price. LOL

32 points in 42 games that’s a 62 point pace. And it’s first first year playing center.

Overpaying for Thompson obviously but look at that absolutely horrendous blueline. Poor Nedeljkovic is going to get murdered out there

I like the trust in Pius Suter but I don’t see him as second line center for a cup contender. Ideally he provides offense on the third line.

I think both Sabre fans and Detroit fans will prefer to pass on that deal - I for one would like to see how far Thompson can progress - over time he's gotten his weight up from 195 to 218 and has increased his confidence he has gone from a forth line RW to a legit 2C and I think he's better now than at the beginning of the season, he's 24 so he's getting to that point where you are what you are but a little upside is still possible.
For four years I have maintained that it takes longer for big players to develop, it finally happened this year.
Detroit does get the best player in the deal but Buffalo fills two holes RW and RHD while adding a center.
With Cozens, Mittelstadt and Krebs Buffalo still has depth at center.
I absolutely love the Skinner-Thompson-Tuch line and would hate to break it up.
I would make this trade because it fills holes in the Buffalo line up while trading away a player from a position that Buffalo has some depth.
IDK if Detroit would want to give up that many young players who may still develop.
