expansion pick with heavy compensation..... I highly doubt I want Vegas plucking Brodin or Scandella. That's gonna cost.....

    BUF
    1. Scandella, Marco
    Additional Details:
Have to move salary off the blueline, Scandella is the best option. Getting a solid and affordable 4th line option and a young exempt prospect in return, who does have some tools in the shed. Draft pick levels the playing field, although I am debating if a 2nd cant be had here as Scandella's contract for what he does is actually pretty good.

    1. Virtanen, Jake
    2. 2019 2nd round pick (VAN)
    Additional Details:
Draft Pick is conditional baded on Virtanen making the team and performance.
    VAN
    1. Brodin, Jonas
    Additional Details:
Another move to clear money off the blueline. Hate moving 2 defenseman off of a great blueline, but its the only way to free up cap room.

Brodin should wet the Canucks whistle given his age and the contract isnt that bad. Virtanen still has a lot of promise, and given the age of the forward core, stocking this cupboard is important. Virtanen should have made the Canucks roster, and that might have some of you questioning this, but he is still young. The conditional pick should provide insolation on that risk.

In my opinion they would protect Brodin and leave Dumba unprotected, but that's just me. Also, in my opinion that isn't enough for Brodin.

I wouldnt mind seeing Brodin on the Canucks but I cant see them trading away Virtanen for a Defense. With 8 nhl Defenseman signed or rfa next year ( not including what happens in the expansion draft) Brodin would just add to the list. This of course doesnt include Juolevi, whos agent has said hes done with jrs and its Nhl or finland.

If you want to trade defensemen, why not Dumba to the Oilers for forwards, expansion exempt prospects and/or picks? This would allow you to keep Brodin, who (I think) is more highly regarded than Dumba.

If that's something that you would consider, what would it take? Puljujarvi? Benson & Jones?

I would be think Pulijujarvi would be the target. Ideally I would love to leave the blieline alone, but there is too much money ties up there.

Get what your saying, but I think the larger question I have is the quality of the Canucks blueline depth.

Leafs offer Kapanen and a 1st for Brodin. Have you checked Virtanen's AHL #'s, he's pretty well entering bust territory.

Vancouver would accept that trade in a millisecond.
