DAL
  1. Grans, Helge
  2. 2022 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Conditional pick

- the pick is Top10 protected. If LA falls to bottom-10 or wins the lottery, the pick converts to an unprotected 2023 1st round pick.
LAK
D John Klingberg ($2,125,000 salary retained)

    2021-22 Trade deadline deal

LA is in a playoff fight, but their PP is weak. Klingberg could bring a boost in that, being one of the better offensive D-men in the league.

    DAL
    1. Lundkvist, Nils
    2. Nemeth, Patrik
    3. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)
    NYR
    1. Kiviranta, Joel
    2. 2022 3rd round pick (DAL)
    Additional Details:
    F Joe Pavelski
    D Andrej Sekera

    2021-22 Trade deadline deal

Assuming NYR is looking to compete this year, they want to bring in some experience the young roster is lacking. Kiviranta brings in a bottom-6 forward with a clutch playoff record. DAL gets a very solid prospect and a first in return, and they also take a cap dump in Nemeth in as well.

        2022 NHL Entry Draft deal

Isles second pair still has a hole to be filled, and Isles also have a surplus of veteran wingers. I think a swap between them makes sense for both teams here. DAL adds a pick and a prospect to compensate on contract value.

        The trades seem fair.
There is a lot of youth there that will want raises the following year. It looks like you’ll need to trade Armia, Bailey, Benn, Seguin, Dobby or Lindell to give raises. It would be tight, especially with Hintz and Guri.

That’s a real nice roster for next year.

I would hope that either Bourque or Johnston breaks the lineup at training camp.

My guess is that JR will ask for something equal or a little bit higher than what Hughes got if he signs for 8 years. His even if he is not a center.

I don’t know if we would get that return for Faksa. I don’t see him that much better than Armia and the contracts are pretty similar. Also, I would guess that Montreal is on Faksa’s NMC list.

I like the moves. My biggest concern would be next offseasonn. Money gets right real quick. Assuming Hintz sees $8M per year, the Stars would have roughly $14M to spend on 7-8 roster spots, including Gurianov, Dellandrea, Peterson, and a backup goalie.

If Nill were able to shed a contract or two to make the cap work next offseason, I’m down for the trades above. Like the team
