Description
This is in 2 years, when the crunch is in full effect. I have added 1 million per year to the Salary Cap like I thought I heard it would do. From watching last nights game for the Canes, this team just looks so solid I feel like we need to do everything we can to keep it together as much as possible. To bring up our young guys on ELC contracts and surround them with solid vets. Instead of just throwing them to the wolves.

Looking at this if our players live up to their potential or close to and we keep some similar production out of our players that we are seeing this year. I know some are having career years but many are young and still developing. It might not be as bad as we think. Yes, we can’t go sign that massive free agent but we might not need to.

I didn’t go through and sign everyone off the Reserve List and RFA if I wasn’t sure if they would make the team. Or have a very good shot. I would love to hear input on possible other UFAs you would sign. Not 100% sure on all contract values, but if this holds close to true we could actually pay Fiala a but more. Boldy I know should make more but have him on short bridge deal could pay more with this additional cap space. I know there aren’t many additions from outside the organization but I think it looks pretty good in terms of a future team. Jesper might be called up a little early here maybe another goalie to give him a little more time down in the minors.

The one thing with a couple of the contracts we you think they would actually be a year longer, Fiala etc. I took into consider the year prior and took that off the contract.
And one last thing d$#m we have been drafting good. Especially as of late.

I like your thinking and everything seems pretty much in line. Although I think the "bridge" contracts for Boldy and Addison are way low. They're going to get more than that on their next deal. Fiala might be a little low with the way he's performing right now, too.

I think that you'll have to move Greenway because, as @robrob10 says, those contracts for Boldy and particularly Addison are much too low. If Addison stays on the team through this season and next, he'll get three times what you have him for here.

You'd have to sell Fiala on the idea of taking less money, but more term, and I don't know if he'd be down with that.

I wouldn't re-sign Gaudreau to that deal. He's making enough right now and if he wants more then he can walk. Sturm probably gets more too or else someone will pay him more.

I would say Sturm is probably gone after his year and Mcbain is brought in for him, that would save you 600-700k, which would definitely go to Boldy I’d say a Boldy bridge will be 2m a year minimum.

Rossi will be up next year and Gaudreau slides down to 4th. McBain will ultimately replace Gaudreau after a year in the AHL, if i were to make a bet on it.

I agree what you all are saying. If I get rid of Freddy that opens up say 600k if we bring up McBain making the cap space 2.2 and change. Say the Boldy bridge is at 2 mil and Addisons is at 2. That would add 800k and 1.1 million so we would still have 300k in space. I’m not sure if Addison get 2.7 on a bridge deal he has been up and down between the AHL and NHL a bit too much. He would still be 22 or so when he signs and that would allow him to sign a big pay day at 24-25.

I think Fiala could be convinced with a 6x6 we do have a little space, to go up. And also if Marat is ready for the NHL we wouldn’t need to sign Sturm and that could open up another 600k. Leaving more cap money for a Fiala resigning.

I also wonder where Marat plays into all this. He has been making some pretty sick plays over in the KHL. And wonder when he would be ready for the NHL.

Of all the players you have in there Freddy and greenway are probably lost likely to be traded, greenway les so. Also I think sturm takes a deal similar to hartman’s maybe a little less money for a few years and is dealt with a year of term left to make room for mcbain.

I’m this scenario though I think lambos or o’rourke is still in the ahl cause Merrill will be on contract, so they’ll keep one of them down an extra year so they play 23 minutes a game instead of 15 for a season

I don’t see any reason why Boldys bridge would be 2M. That’s ridiculously low for what he’s shown so far. Unless he regresses big time, that number needs to double or triple.
