If Bergeron retires

Created by: AgentWebster
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2022
Published: Feb. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Marchand playing with Kadri and on the same line!!!

The other option is if I did not trade for Chychrun then we could save money on him by resigning Vaakanainen then instead of signing Kadri we would have more money to go after PIERRE-LUC DUBOIS but that would be two first going to the Jets.

Arizona is unlikely to take a myriad of random pieces and a 1st for their best dman.

Buffalo declines, you want to rid of salary you need to pay us not the other way around

Not getting Chychrun without Lysell or Lohrei as one of the pieces.

Kadri - never pay for a career year, especially if it’s after age 30.

I might agree with you on Kadri but as far as not getting Chychrun without sending Lysell or Lohrei I don't think so. The issue with Vaakanainen is he does not have a season of playing in the NHL. If you look at a very shot sample size he would be on pace to put of more points then Chychrun. As far as Beecher goes he was playing 2nd team PP for team USA because of this guy named Jack Hughes playing with the first team. That along with his injury set him back but he is having a good year at Michigan so all of that plus a first round pick is more then good IMO.

I know how well Urho has played. He does not move the needle, your 2nd piece is non-existent. They asked for a 1st and Lundell + from Fla. Those 1st two pieces trump your entire package. Keep in mind they don’t have to trade him, so they don’t have to settle. You have a 1st, a whole lot of meh and cap dumps. They don’t even consider it.

Beecher is not having a good year, he needed a bounce back year and he’s been disappointing. Not sure if he can provide enough offense to be anything more than 4th liner at this point.

How do you pay pastrnak (and swayman) after handing out those UFA contracts?

Also, that is quite a poor chychrun offer

Right. Michigan is a team made up of NHL talent and he is lagging far behind despite being older

Minnesota will have enough cap challenges next year without trying to fit in a $3.8m bottom 6 player.

Not the dude who made the thread (and I don't think that contract will get Kadri so this hypothetical isn't really important anyway), but I'm expecting Pasta will essentially just take on the majority of smith's contract to get up to roughly 8.5-9.5 million against the cap, and from that point you can probably work out a trade with Forbort to cover Swayman

2nd on OSU in points (3pts behind team leader). From an NCAA level, he's tied for 1st among all NCAA d-men in points and sits 1pt out of being in the top 30 among all NCAA skaters.

Wouldn't be shocked to see him turn pro after this season, but I also wouldn't be shocked if the Bruins want him to play one more year in NCAA. He's a converted forward, so he's still developing his defenseman game. The good news is the offensive game is there and he's a strong skater. Due to his size he can get away with making mistakes/bad reads and recover pretty well. Still think his floor is a 2nd pairing two-way defensemen.

A 6th for Nosek is a steal for Buffalo lol. Just because OP is trying to get rid of him (which is dumb in itself) to make horrible signs, doesn't men he's a cap dump.

Despite starting 67% of his zone starts in the defensive zone, his metrics are average/above average and he's a guy that's over 50% for his career in the dot.

$1.75 million for a guy whose played at a 25pt pace the last 3 years, is solid defensively and can win face-offs....that's easily worth more than a 6th (which has a 16% chance of playing over 99 games in the NHL).

And then you have to replace smith and fobort in the line up

And this is pastrnaks one shot at real money. He has a claim to panarin type money

I just really don’t see much of a chance that he retires.
