I voted for the Montreal Canadiens.

Same. I think MTL won for the same reasons.

That said, perhaps this could be like the free agency run this past summer where some RHD got deals that seemed too high, but then that was just the market. Perhaps by the trade deadline this will look like a far worse trade, because of how it will compare to other trades.

Any source on your analysts?

Playing someone younger ?!?! Who? Why not trade away another winger instead to free a spot ?

So why keep him? To put a team on the ice!

Literally look at anybody doing drafts. Pierre McGuire, Sam McGilligan, DraftAnalyst are just a few I can think off of the top of my head.

Ylonen is the first name I think of for somebody to take his spot, but could be any of our young guys in Laval. Now Pezzetta can play full time instead of being a 13th Forward. Everybody moves up.

We move him because he's 29 and nobody knows if he will bounce back (he likely will).

Fair deal, i had Toffoli at 1st+prospect and Heineman looks good but more under-the-radar since he's not one of those big names Flames guys

Habs completely tanking. Excellent return for a third line player. 1st, (2nd) & 5th.

More like a 2nd line player, who can play power play, and pk. And do anything and everything you want. Plus a leader

Pain.

It wasn’t a long time Tyler, but it was fun while it lasted.

I think I’m just going to tell myself that hockey stopped existing after June 24th, 2021.

What a terrible return for a player with .80 ppg!
1st, meh prospect , 5th, cap dump.
One of pelltier, zary, Coronato HAD to be part of it.
We should've kept him, or waited till other teams offered more.
Fleece by treiveling.
CGY WIN

Spot on. Not a lot of value going back to habs there for a quality player with a low cap hit. Should have generated a lot more value than that.

Oh well, we got fair value for the rebuild and another roster spot for a young player. Win-Win. Wish Toffoli best of luck!

Honestly I'm so glad this trade happened. It shows to me that Hughes and Gorton mean business about rebuilding. Not half-assing it. Do it and do it right. We're already half way there with hopefully a 1st OV selection IMHO.

I'm completely fine with Logan Cooley if we get the 2nd pick. Even 3rd overall wouldn't be bad in this draft.

IDK how to feel about this trade. Habs didn't get fleeced but I think they could've gotten another asset or two out of the Flames; Toffoli is a great player on a steal of a contract and will be much more vital to the teams success in the coming years than some guys who are making more.

We'll have to wait and see how the Canadiens use the assets they got. From the sound of it, Hughes/Gorton have great hopes for Heineman.

Seems like the right thing to do for both teams. Toffli is a pretty good player. Fair deal.
