I've had this thought as well. It's great for today but completely wrecks the future. Hertl, Forsberg and Lindholm are all going to want 7 year contracts. 8 if it's their current teams.

Hertl Forsberg and Lindholm would all be 7 year deals, And it probably screws up resigning Larkin and offering big contracts to Raymond and Seider after their ELCs are up. No thanks.

Agreed, I think we are still two years away from contention so these deals don't help at all.

Does look nice though. Just doesn't yell true contender, see it being more like Toronto in the future. Can't quite get it done and then have cap issues in a few years.

Right. I'd much rather be a Carolina/ Colorado type team in the future than a Toronto type.

Agreed that's why I promote 2 years from contention when people think cause we got some points this year that we are almost there.
