You need to get your eyes checked? Barron's not in the trade

Yea, being that Giroux holds all the cards, Philly just gonna have to take what comes their way or not and lose him for nothing.

I'd like to hope this isn't the same as the Taylor Hall situation because Giroux has actually played well this year. I guess we'll see

Seems like a ton for Giroux. He’s great, but that’s a lot for a couple months of a rental.

Everyone saying this is too much for Giroux or possibly just perfect. And I’m over here thinking Giroux could get a better return

The reason why it’s a fair deal is Drew Helleson is Colorado’s top RHD prospect who is probably going to be ready for the league in a year or two. Kaut is a fringe NHL Right Wing who is a former first round pick. Compher is a plug and play C/RW middle six with term. Finally, a first round pick. All for a UFA at the end of the season.

I wouldn’t consider compher a middle 6. He’s a 3rd liner. Calling him a middle 6 insinuates that he has the stats that are 2nd line worthy. 3.5 million is kinda on that high range of 3rd liner. And Giroux being a rental doesn’t really decrease his value. Most teams are looking for rentals come deadline. People gotta stop with the “he’s a rental so his value decreases”. I mean anyone who has been a fan longer than 3 months should be able to remember trades in prior years involving rentals. Philly is also retaining 50%. This is on the low end of what I believe he gets.

Ranta/Kaut/Bowers, 1st and one of Compher/Jost is as much as I'd be offering for Giroux.

To be fair, the rumours AT THIS POINT, list western teams like COL, STL, MIN....but theres rumours hed go to TOR, BOS, NYR and WAS too (he can stay local, near his wife and newborn).

And this isn;t like the Giordano rumours (where he said only CGY and TOR, just 2 teams and one of which doesnl;t need a LD nor have any cap space). Even with 3 teams involved, and "sealed bids", I think the rumours of a very good prospect, a 1st and one of Jost or Compher is probably right, but Barron or Newhook is too much, I would expect Helleson or Bowers, or Kaut or Ranta and another pick (Kaut and Ranta carry a little less value)
