oml we actually suck

Created by: michaelost
Team: 2021-22 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 15, 2022
Published: Feb. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These are the lines I want.

Beau-Barzal both have chemistry and are great friends. Beau's speed will help Barzal a lot and Wahly could help them score.

Nelson playing with two strong net-front presences should help him too. He is a lethal shooter so Lee could help with the rebounds and screening and Bellows will complement his shot really well by adding an opposing threat on the other side to open up some room for Nelson so they cant just fully pressure him all game

3rd line is basically two losers and Koivula. He has never gotten a fair chance so why not. Maybe Bailey and Palmieri can learn to not fu---g suck

4th line- who cares

Defense:

Why were Pulock and Pelech ever seperated?

Salo-Dobby needs to happen. Could be a great 2nd pairing for years to come

Dermott is mostly a fill-in for now. He could be good. Aho has looked much better as of late when playing so a full time roll would really help him.

sorokin plays every game except back to backs. Over long periods of time we send down Skarek and have Koskinen back up and then we rest Skarek right before we play back to backs so he can come up. get him experience and a lot of playing time

We arent winning anything this year so we have to plan for next year. Odds are though that we "stand pat" and try to make the playoffs just to be eliminated before we even hit 70 games played

We suck. We gotta realize that

We could also flip Koskinen at half retained for like a 5th somewhere and put Schneider in that roll. He is worse so he would help out the tank a bit more

I think these are all fair except for the Toronto Chara trade. That's what they need on the right side D. It would be better if Chara was still good, but he is at least tough. Switch the 1st to a 2023 2nd and its closer.

I was conflicted because I see stuff like Chiarot is getting at least a 1st rounder but he isnt worth it. Mayfield is cheap and is under contract next year so id imagine he gets a bit more. No idea why the Leafs fans on here want Chara but i threw him in cuz why not. Hes probably getting like a 6th straight up

Whether Parise is worth that or not, he isn't worth it to Vegas. We already have massive forward depth and tons of defensive forwards and bottom six options.

Haha Bailey played 18:01 tonight, played most minutes on the PP and was of course out there for the 6v5.
Palmieri with 2 goals: 13:35, no PP time and was not played 6v5.

Wahlstrom: 13:07
Barzal: 16:39
Lee (had a great game): 14:51
Nelson: 16:36

Martin: 13:46
Clutterbuck: 15:04
Cizikas: 16:06

Aho was providing offense, played 16:51, least of the d.

It’s so f ridicolous.

i mean for 750k, im not sure why they wouldnt. Stone likely out until the playoffs game 1 so he could slot in really easily and play to his defensive standards and then he becomes an every other game guy or comes in for injuries

“We’re going to go with the guys who are producing” - Trotz. He’s full of sh*t man. Bailey might be the worst forward on the isles and he always gets rewarded lol

Yeah he is and he’s never getting called out/questioned for his constant bs. How hard can it be.. ”Barry can you explain what you liked about Bailey’s game tonight since he played most of all forwards? In comparison for a Palmieri for example who played 5 mins less”…

Lol! Yeah he’s a douche every time Isles lose, but pretends to be the the wholehearted nice guy when they win, hate that type of people.

He and Lou thinks that the media/fans doesn’t have one single reason to be adressed or explained too, which makes me very irritated. Lou hasn’t even had a press conference yet as every other GM in the league surely has had, especially when this team has failed completely from their expectation. They have to say something to all the season ticket holders etc. it just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. The fans and media pay their multi million contracts, they/we deserve to be treated with more respect imo. I understand they can’t/won’t be fully transparent 100%, but this is ridicolous.

100% - Lou needs to A. Do a presser or B. Trade some of the vets to at least signal he is re-tooling. It’s embarassing the way this season has gone - the disrespect to the fans and certain players on the isles to go into this season with Chara and Greene in the same lineup

Yeah definitely. Everyone always love to talk about the ”professionalism” Lou and this ownership has (finally) created for the Isles, something very easy to say for the last 3 years. This year has only showed us so far that they are, as long as they don’t have to take actual responsibilty, which imo is maybe the most important attribute when talking about professionalism. Trotz is a man-baby at every presser and seems to blame everyone and everything else but himself. Lou hides in some office and have been hiding all year. Yeah very professional. Look at what Montréal is doing, adresses their problems and making sure everyone who now is in charge is in front of this rebuild etc etc. Just 1 example.

My take on it is Lou and Trotz have never been in a situation where a majority of their best players are young, it's embarrassing for them that the vets they trust have fallen off a cliff. Trotz is used to his best players being at or the wrong side of the 30.
