Skinners actual salary is 10 million for like the next 4 years. Save the picKs and players and just over pay lindholm and you still come out ahead.

Idk, getting that skinner contract off the books might make it worth it in their eyes

You obviously have NO CLUE what you’re talking about

Dahlin is basically untouchable
AND
WE aren’t trying to get Skinner’s contract off the books
1- he’s actually playing decent, even though he’s overpaid
2- him being overpaid does NOT matter to us…. as we actually NEED his Cap Hit to get to the floor

Your trade suggestion here is one one the most non-sensical things I’ve seen on here
There’s absolutely ZERO reason whatsoever for the Sabres to do anything but laugh at this

Sorry to be so harsh
But it’s really THAT bad dude

Ok, replace “we” with “The Sabres”
Semantics doesn’t make your idea any less horrible

Sorry about the idea. wasn't my intention to make you get this upset. Just a thought about how the sabres might want to get out of a very bad contract

But like I’ve already pointed out….
We NEED his “bad contract” to get us to the Cap Floor

So how does your thinking make sense??

you could sign 3 useful players for 3 million each and get the same effect

EXCEPT :
the Sabres stink & have for a while now, so the only way we attract UFAs is to overpay them
So we’d just replacing 1 bad contract with other bad contracts

And for that, we’d have to give up Dahlin

Dude…. It’s a REALLY RIDICULOUS IDEA

Again, sorry to be harsh
But it would be like u guys shipping out Barzal to get a team to take the Palmeri contract off your hands
There’s just NO CHANCE it’s gonna happen
NONE

Skinner is on pace for 35 goals this season. His contract isn’t bad as of this season.

Even if we did want to get rid of his contract,
Dahlin would be the LAST guy we’d consider moving to get it done

Yeah I have to agree with the group here. As high as skinners salary is, they do need it for the next few years to hit the floor most likely. (Quinn,Peterka,Krebs,Thompson,Cozens,Samuelsson,Power etc...all ELC for a couple years, and Thompson is real cheap) Plus if he can remain a 20+ goal scorer it dampens the blow from his cap hit a bit.

And yeah, Dahlin isn't going anywhere anytime soon...he's trending in the right direction defensively which is where most of his problems are.

Yea, ignore the upset ppl but yea if the sabres needed to get rid of cap this would be about what we would have to do. Sadly at this point the sabres have no established stats other than Dahlins and Skinner and without them we wouldn't have a chance at hitting the cap floor. Moving Dahlin with Skinner in 2/3 years for some depth forwards and prospects if Power is a star might be what it takes. (although I'm a full believer power will never pass Dahlin on the left side, Dahlins just 2 damn good.)

And just to pile on here- the fit is wrong. The Sabres need a franchise center, and 2 right shot d (I would prefer defensive ones that have some size). Things they don't need- left shot d (dahlin, power, Samuelsson, johnson, Bryson, hagg) and wingers (olofsson, Skinner, tuch, Krebs, peterka, Quinn, and probably one of thompson/mittelstadt). We are stuck with Skinner, for probably 2 more years, at which point the buyout is not so bad anyways. And also, we are so close to the floor that moving Skinner out wouldn't save the pegulas anyway, they would need to pay somebody.
