As a Sharks fan, I wouldn't give up Bonino and mainly because we know Pavelski is going to a cup contender or retiring. Bonino isn't a rental for anyone this year as he has one more year left on his contract next year. Now, Bonino hasn't had his best season, but we need him as a 3rd line Center. I'd take him over an AHL guy everyday of the week.

He has not played great this season overall. He was brought in to bring scoring and consistency and he hasn’t been either. I don’t think he would bring back a 3rd rounder so I think they should keep him but also sign/acquire another center and drop Bonino to 4C.

That's fair. I opted to go for a guy like Pavelski because this team has improved it's defence a lot this year (when people are healthy), but they absolutely cannot score. Depth scoring is the biggest issue the team currently has, and bringing in someone like Pavelski would help a lot.

CBJ pass. That's a lot of money to take on for nothing.

If you let him go, there is no chance you get another player that can produce like him in the free market (for a reasonable price).

I would juggle the lineup a bit, try and move Labanc over Bonino and like said above move Bonino to 4C but Bordeleau is not a 4 C he would have to be our 3C if he stays with the club next year, i would put Pavelski with Couture as they have good chemistry

if possible i would go with
    Eklund Hertl Meier
    Dahlin Couture Pavelski
    Balcers Bordeleau Barabanov
    Nieto Bonino Reedy

weisblatt Coe Robins and Gushin all look like future NHLers, but them along with whoever we pick 1st this year could use a year or two more in the minors to groom them for the big club.
Nieto Bonino & cogliano are 3/4 of our PK team and that’s a bright spot, until we find 1-2 young PK guys we need them. weatherby Gregor and Reedy could all take their roles but i would want to feel comfortable before o let them go.

I don't hate that, Im just not sure you're going to find many buyers for Labanc. Can they afford to just leave him on the 4th line with Bonino & Nieto? That wouldn't be a bad 4th line, all things considered.

He failed miserably this year on the 4th line and he has legit top 9 skill and ability, we need to utilize him better but his skill just doesn't mesh with our system. my hope is someone takes a flyer on him for like a 4th otherwise your not getting Pav's back (i don't see pavs taking less than 7 mill for 1-2 years after the last 2 years hes had.

I dunno I'm not convinced of that. He's been good for sure but I think his production is ultimately unsustainable and if he truly wants a Fabbri-esque contract, I wouldn't be willing to offer up that kind of money or term. He could easily regress back into a 4th liner again.

Looks pretty good tbh. Not sure Pavs would be willing to come back though. Would love it if he did but I don't see it.
