No thanks on the Rangers trade. If I’m moving Schneider it’s for a 1C prospect not someone who’s boutta be 29. Thinking long term here.

The rangers are 6th in the league is the goal to win the cup or just keep bringing in prospects..? Don’t think Schneider brings in a 1C prospect anyway

Then we keep him. They aren’t good enough 5 on 5 to get close to the cup. They’ll be out in the 1st round in probably 5-6 games. And Schneider is already playing close to 20 minutes a night at 20. Not a prospect who’s far out.

Take out the two 2nds and chytil and put in one of Lafreniere or Kakko and its fair on both ends. I wouldn't trade Scheifele though

If we moved Graves (unlikely, but lets say hypothetically), the Stanley deal could possibly work.
Could be like the Siegenthaler deal for us.

Why are would WPG move Stanley for a 2nd rd pick?
Has his stock fallen off that much?

I'd hope Detroit takes it. We desperately need ld to bridge to the kids and the ufa depth this off-season is not great. He's a tad overpaid but I like the player.

That extra year of term kind of bothers me too, but depending on our options it might be the best case scenario. I would be trying other moves first though but not a bad idea in my opinion.

If you want to win you have to give up some of your prospects. To get a first line centre with term at a great price you have to give quality not quantity.

They are ALREADY winning. Schneider is part of the long term plan, so he simply isn't available. if a trade hinges on him being part of it, then no trade is the only answer.

You already have Fox and Trouba on the right side. What do you need more, another right shot d or a #1 centre?

Disagree if u get a chance at a 1C to go for a run you take it or just stay a 1st 2nd round team.. Panarin zib kreider ain’t getting younger

Doesn’t matter if they had Schiefele. They aren’t winning the cup this year or next year. Team is too young and inexperienced with little to no playoff experience. It’s point, ess to waste assets when they aren’t gonna do anything. Look at how the playoff runs Pittsburgh, Chicago, Boston, LA, Tampa, St. Louis and Washington had before winning anything. You can’t win with only 6 guys having any meaningful playoff experience.

No I am not. I’m not delusional or overly optimistic like most that think they can make a trade and win a cup. I’m being realistic and they are not gonna win a thing this year.

Need more at this very moment in time OR need more long term? Two very different things, which I am sure you know since you want Schneider so badly. The Rangers are not going to be short sighted and trade Schneider, they have plenty of other players, prospects and picks they can trade to address their current needs. Longer term, he is Trouba's replacement in 2 to 3 years.

How do you get rid of Trouba's contract in 2-3 years. It is already a bad contract.

He is playing great, worth every penny right now. His NMC burns off and then he could be traded. If they have to retain a little salary, they can do that too in the future.
