No. IMO BOS adds the pick and possibly more. I understand that DeBrusk is younger and currently cheaper and Monahan is having a bad year yet again, but BOS has the need for a number 2 center and CAL is flush with wingers.

Yeah I do agree that the value of the player isn't always based on the last season but the potential. If you go by the theory of everyone writing off DeBrusk like he doesn't even know how to skate (due to his 2 down seasons) one can apply that logic to Monahan as well.

That being said, Monahan's skillset is better than that of DeBrusk - the Bruins would have to add more to make this offer happen. Not to mention, I know Monahan has been moved down to the 3rd line C for the last little while, but the Flames look to be all in with the Tyler T trade and I am not sure moving a center for them would make sense (that being said Flames fans may know better of what they need for their roster).

Bruins likely would have to add a pick and or perhaps a younger prospect to make something work out.

Ehhh not really. Haula since being moved to 2C about 20 games ago has been playing at a 50-55pt pace.

There is still a need for 2c, however the priority being a LD. Watching the games without Bergeron have been ugly and proves the Bruins need a little more talent at Center behind him
