Leafs need Ben Chiarot, he's physical and plays playoff hockey

Since TOR crumbled in the last playoffs after Muzzin injury and Chiarot is the only top 4 they can afford, it makes total sense.

They will never go throught Florida teams without him.

Lauzon isn’t proven in the playoffs. Chiarot is. Leafs don’t need someone to bet on again, they need to know what they’re getting and they need someone with the physicality of Chairot. Makes sense that they’re in on him

yeah you aren't getting chiarot for that crap bud. ritichie is a cap dump. you gotta ADD assets to get rid of him. and mtl will prob take him but with incentive. on top of those assets, you add a 1st rd pick and more chiarot. all signs point towards him fetching a good prospect and a 1st.

And there’s the unspoken “in division tax” thing that a lot of team adhere to. Probably doesn’t add much, but I’d imagine if another team puts out an offer that is “equal” to Toronto’s, I’ll bet the Habs pick them over their hated rivals.

Yes, this is the man that will save the Leafs.

And it will only cost them a 1st plus a prospect 🤦‍♂️

Exactly. And on top of that they sent him to Toronto as a favour to him cause he went to management and asked if he was going to be traded, if it could be somewhere close to Montreal since his family was there and he didn’t want to move them.

I disagree about Lauzon been better right now (will become down the line for sure), but I do agree Lauzon (or Soucy) could upgrade TML defence core right now for cheap. Also Lauzon does play well on the right side.

But if you want to beat FLO or TB this year, you want Chiarot's grit and experience. And those teams not getting him instead! If TML wouldget Lauzon but FLO gets Chiarot, they are still in big trouble...

You seem to be forgetting what he did to the leafs last year in the playoffs. Remember how well Matthews and Marner did? Oh wait.

LOL that man and Weber had your guys crying in an Amazon documentary.

In the void.. he is not worth a first... but as a rental - for a chance at a cup, he is. ( we are talking a late 1st round pick... not a top15...)

Trades a little off. Chiarot will get a 2022 1st, an “B”-“A” prospect, and prolly an roster player to replace him alone, than you gotta include half salary, that will add to the trade. And if you send Cap dump, it’ll cost more.

The Leafs are 5th in points %, 6th in goals for, 5th in GA, 1st in PP, 6th PK, this is a fukcin good team. The gauntlet that awaits them this year is ridiculous. Both TBL and FLA are amazing teams. Last year, sure push the chips in and go all in. But if Dubas trades a 1st + for Chiarot and they lose he deserves to be fired. Hell, any GM that gives MTL that should, Ben is terrible.

I would and hope Kyle does as well, takes his chances with the current team with a minor adds (Lauzon, Lyubushkin, Schenn)

You know that the Leafs wouldn't dare to pay more than a 2nd for Chiarot, right? Habs have no leverage after his injury and Hughes played all his cards during his press conference. He sounded vulnerable and scared to not get a deal done

LOL you should know by now TML regular season stats doesn't mean crap.

Whatever Dubas does, he will be fired if the team doesn't win at least 2 rounds.

He needs to go all in and shouldn't care to trade away a 1st, he won't be there anymore anyway...

Absolutely trade the 1st, for a player that deserves it. (Hertl, Miller, Garland, Severson)

And win or lose this playoffs, he is not getting fired. The core will be broken up, but Kyle will be doing it.

I wouldn’t mind if it’s Chiarot at 50% for Ritchie straight up.

No good futures (3rd or higher) or good prospects should be going the other way.
