Absolutely trade the 1st, for a player that deserves it. (Hertl, Miller, Garland, Severson)

And win or lose this playoffs, he is not getting fired. The core will be broken up, but Kyle will be doing it.

Wondering why you think he gets the chance to “break up the core”, he’s had time to come up the the team he wants and the coaching staff he wants

Leafs need Ben Chiarot, he's physical and plays playoff hockey

You think Dubas and Pridham predicted the pandemic and the cap staying flat for x number of years, come on. This is not the team he envisioned (have been playing dumpster diving for FAs the past two seasons). He WILL have the opportunity next year.

LOL that man and Weber had your guys crying in an Amazon documentary.

In the void.. he is not worth a first... but as a rental - for a chance at a cup, he is. ( we are talking a late 1st round pick... not a top15...)

that says ben chariot, not cary price

Since TOR crumbled in the last playoffs after Muzzin injury and Chiarot is the only top 4 they can afford, it makes total sense.

They will never go throught Florida teams without him.

lol at ben chariot being a top 4

not saying he's a bad gm.

but everyone has to deal with the cap. if he had an extra 1-2 million on the cap would this team be much different? dumpster diving by getting tj Brodie?

Again not saying he's a bad gm, but eventually when you have had several years to improve your team and until this year still haven't produced a playoff round win at what point do you say a different man in charge is necessary

Again not saying he's a bad gm, or that your stupid for thinking he's good, was just curious as I wasn't sure leafs fans would want him back if they lost again

I don’t think they get him with Ritchie involved. Canadians want picks, prospects and expiring contracts. Maybe they have to take Ritchie back for it to work for Toronto under the cap. But then the price and value would go up also.

Never heard of retention???

Also Hertl Remaining Daily Cap Hit Tooltip : $1,996,875 at the TDL will be even lower.

Canucks would never retain on Garland. Doubt you have/ are willing to give up the assets to acquire Miller or Severson and have their respective teams retain on them (and if you’re ere to acquire a player with term there’s this little problem of Jack Campbell’s new contract looming in a few months). Hertl at 50% retained would cost an arm and a leg and the leafs would probably be outbid by a New York Rangers or a Minnesota wild for him.

If the Leafs are trading their 1st round pick it will be for one of those types of deals, not Ben Chiarot is what I am getting at here

LOL you should know by now TML regular season stats doesn't mean crap.

Whatever Dubas does, he will be fired if the team doesn't win at least 2 rounds.

He needs to go all in and shouldn't care to trade away a 1st, he won't be there anymore anyway...

and how should he go all in? with the worst defender on the worst team in the league?

The cap was projected to be at 88 mil in 2022. So yes, when they signed Tavares and had over half their cap tied into 4 players, they were expecting to be able to add more to this roster instead of league min players and reclamation projects.

I hear what you are saying, but I have faith in the management team for whatever reason this core still.

Miller? Like, Colin Miller? They guy Seattle didn't pick out of Buffalo? He deserves a 1st but not Chiarot? Hahahahahahaha 🤡

JT Miller 🤦‍♂️

Edit:
Leafs need a top 6 FWD

Scoring has kept them from advancing not keeping the puck out
