Kap is worth more than 3rd.
Heinen is a better player than Asplund.

kapanen is worth at least a 2nd and a 4th, pittsburgh could resign kapanen to a great deal in the offseason, 3rd round pick is a fleece, heinen is way better than asplund LMAO, these trades make pittsburgh look dumb

I hope your mgmt feels that way too,
bc i actually don’t like this trade for the Sabres

ZERO interest in DeSmith…. NONE

Heinen is a bit better than Asplund offensively,
but i like Asplund’s defensive game, and he can play Center for us (which Heinen doesn’t)

I’d do Kapanen for a 3rd, but not for a 2nd
We have plenty of young wingers that are talented, so he’s not a “need” for us

Buffalo trade ridiculous..lol.

Kappy playing poorly still .75PPG last season and .5PPG this season.

Everyone talks sh*t on Kappy, does a trade for him and then immediately inserts him on their teams 2nd Line..lol. His floor and ceiling are both high. Let him get hot for a month and he’s a 20 goal scorer again.

And Toffoli brought back a 1st, a 5th, an interesting prospect drafted in the 2nd round pick just last draft in Emil Heinenman, plus an expiring contract in T.Pitlick(1.75M). Kappy cheaper and younger.

Heinen is 26 year old and a RFA. Playing on the Pens 2nd line(a 1st place team)..lol. Asplund not even close.

Pens have plenty of bottom 6 options. And with Zucker and OConnor coming back from injury: more than enough 3rd line options.

McGinn is gonna be back on the 4th line with ZAR/Blueger/McGinn and D.Simon and B.Boyle will be back in the press box as a healthy scratch. You think Asplund gets PT.??

I’ll take Craig Anderson for DeSmith though.

ZERO reason for the Sabres to do that

As a Sabre fan I agree this is not a good trade for the Penguins.
Remove Heinen and it closer.
Anderson, Craig > DeSmith, Casey
Asplund, Rasmus and 2022 3rd round pick (BUF) < Kapanen, Kasperi
What do you all think?
Kapanen would fit in very nicely into Buffalo's line up next year.

EDIT: Love and Shibbal are totally wrong.
To get both Heinen and Kapanen for Asplund and a third' would be a major coup for Karmanos.
I guess neither of them know Kapanen can KP as well and maybe does it better than Asplund.
They are correct DeSmith does nothing but balance the roster and must be included.
The Sabres could move Olofsson in a separate deal for a good RHD.
