Maybe top 10. Top 5 is way too ambitious, coming from someone who watches the Leafs a lot and is a big fan of their's. And I can definitely see Ehlers being a top 20 player and top 5 winger in the league for a long time as well. So if you want to make this deal work, I'm not going to give you Vancouver's first next year unless you're going to throw in another piece. If it's just Nylander, I'm not adding a ton more to the deal.
Okay, I have no problem hanging onto Nylander until I get what I'm looking for.
Dude. Why is it that you make some easy trades like the ones with STL and COL, but you're demanding the world for Nylander from me?

Cause Nylander is worth the world, sun, and moon.
Count yourself lucky I'm only asking for 1?

give me the top ten forwards that you would include Nylander w/
This is the way I can see it panning out in about 4 or 5 years
1: Connor Mcdavid
2: Jack Eichel
3: Rasmus Dahlen (yes, I think he'll be that good)
4: Vladimir Tarasenko
5: Auston Matthews
6: Patrik Laine
7: William Nylander (5, 6, & 7 are interchangeable)
8: Rasmus Ristolainen
9: Hampus Lindholm
10: Nathan MacKinnon
Super hard to make a list like this because I left out players like Seguin, Kucherov, and Scheifele and I probably forgot some people.

Rasmus isnt even a top 15 defender. he is a EV defensive liability.
Ivan Provorov will be on that list of defenders. Sidney Crosby will still be a top 5.

he is the best player in the NHL. why don't you think he won't be able to keep up as a top player?

Because he's not the best player in the world, he doesn't really generate a lot of offense on his own most nights, he's not even the best center on his team, need I continue?

Rasmus isnt even a top 15 defender. he is a EV defensive liability.
Ivan Provorov will be on that list of defenders. Sidney Crosby will still be a top 5.
Also I forgot about Erik Karlsson and Leon Draisaitl so it's near impossible to make a top 10 players in 5 years list + Ristolainen will get much better defensively in the next 5 years, just like Karlsson.

he is the best player in the NHL. why don't you think he won't be able to keep up as a top player?
Because he's not the best player in the world,
he doesn't really generate a lot of offense on his own most nights, he's not even the best center on his team, need I continue?
he actually does generate a lot of offense, hence why Jake Guentzel and Connor Sheary rake.
he is the best center on his team.

I can honestly tell you that you won't like my answer, but I'll check.
