They'd have to to pry away a future hall of famer who is still a game changer, don't think I'd really want this to happen but I can't deny how cool it would be to see kane in an avs jersey. Also, it would be hard for them to want to retain 1/2 his salary for all of next year when they're up against the cap already.

I disagree. While it’s a nice package. Kane would arguably instantly be Colorado’s best player and that’s wild to consider with the roster they have.

I think personally think the package needs to be improved. I think when you’re acquiring a player like Patrick Kane, the receiving team must part with their top prospect. Barron & Newhook are good prospects but, those late ass 1st round picks ain’t gonna cut it.

Super, super easy no for Colorado. Newhook is untouchable, and even if you remove him Colorado wouldn't consider this.

Obviously I'd love to add Kane, but the asking price here is insane. It's like 5 firsts!

Kane, at this point in his career, would be no better than 3rd, and even that might be a stretch. MacKinnon and Makar are well ahead of him, and Kadri, Rantanen and Landeskog would all make a case as well. The retention in this case is huge, but this is the equivalent of 5 first rounder's plus additional stuff.

Oh how quickly we forget. Kane is a perennial MVP candidate and even during a disastrous season in Chicago he’s still performing at a PPG clip which in of itself is a testament to the fact he’s still got a ton left in the tank.

I’m literally Cale Makar’s biggest fan and we know who MacKinnon is, but It would be pointless to debate who is better which is why I used the term “arguably” the best. Because at the bare minimum it could be argued.

I actually can’t believe I’m having to advocate for how obviously great of a player Patrick Kane (still) is, I’m gonna stop before my head explodes.

You don't need to advocate for Kane, at least with me. He most definitely is a great player, But COL just can't give up this much future for one piece, no matter how good he is.
