The Usual Bruins Small Moves Deadline

Created by: koofyslappa
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2022
Published: Feb. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I really don't see the Bruins making a splash at the deadline but I do see them making some moves.

The Canadiens trade may not work out due to the rivalry nd lack of trades between the Bruins and them. I think this trade could work out as the Canadiens shed some cap and take in some youngsters as well as a draft pick.

The Jets get Jake Debrusk and can possibly give him a top six role. Copp has been in some trade rumors this year and I can see the Bruins picking him up.

Highly doubt the Bruins get rid of Forbort, especially with the return of a 4th rounder.

Let me know your thoughts.

Jets trade is doable. The other 2 are not. Jets decline tho

Not sure Armia worth the 2nd alone.

Forbort has an NTC not waiving for Buffalo and Boston not trading its top PK d man.

MTL trade is horrible for BOS, JD for Armia may be plausible but don’t think that’s even worth it honestly

Jets trade is closes value, and most helpful, though Jets probably resign Copp unless they get 1st for him though I believe this is fair value

BUF is unlikely, could be possible but I see them moving Reilly for small return before forbort just cause his size is going to be a lot more useful i the playoffs over mikes puck moving, especially with Grez and urho

The second is a good start for Copp, but DeBrusk would need to be replaced with a prospect that is needed by the Jets and has value.

With DeBrusk's ridiculous QO, he has pretty much no value. Teams can just wait for Boston to not qualify him and sign him without giving up anything.

If you want Armia you will not have to pay that for him. Habs will give him to you for Pennies on the dollar. Kent hughes already said he would trade certain guys with term for little to no return and I would assume Armia is one of those guys. Throw over a 6th to 5th if you want but don’t need that much

Umm players and teams can negotiate and sign guys for less then their qualifying offers ya know, Jets have done it twice recently.

True. But are you willing to throw away good assets on that chance? The only thing we know is that his QO is ridiculous for a bottom sixer, so with the information we have, I'm not taking that chance.

DeBrusk doesn't owe Winnipeg anything, why wouldn't he hold out for his QO?

Not to mention the Jets don't need to add players that think they are entitled to ice time based on what they did 5 years ago or their draft position.

Idk, I'm just bored of Copp and am more then ready to move on and see some new faces in the lineup.. lol

I don't think anyone will give Debrusk his qualifying offer, you're right though he could just wait it out and force himself out, could probably get another pick for him if they had to trade him though, not sure Copp really gets more then a 2nd which is in this proposal so anything else is gravy or that's the way I see it anyway.

For me Copp is one of Winnipeg's best trade chips, they can't waste that on a maybe that might walk. I think Copp could get more than a 2nd. If pundits are talking about Chiarot getting a 1st then a better player like Copp has a chance at pulling a first. grin I know there will be more forwards likely available, but you never know.

This is the kind of offer you take only if you've exhausted all other options and have no choice but to move Copp.

True true, idk what Copp will get or if they'll even trade him, I hope they do but I'm not sure Chevy will do anything at(or before) the deadline. The one thing is the eastern conference is pretty much settled between buyers and sellers so I wonder how that'll effect the market.

I'd trade Armia for a pack of gum if that's what it takes to get rid of his contract
