The rumor is Vancouver is trying to cut some salary and they aren't sure paying Boeser his qualifying offer of 7.5mil is worth it at the moment. Would this be enough for Boeser? Is this an overpayment? Let me know what you guys think and what you would change.

Take out the 1st. Our 2nd is close to a 1st (#37), so that along with prospect and Zacha should do the trick.

You extremely overvalue Boeser
Most Canuck fans were fine with Zacha, Walsh, and a 2nd
Asking for Holtz or L. Hughes back is straight up not happening. Hughes is breaking records at Michigan and Holtz is well over a point per game in the AHL and is more valuable than Boeser alone

What did NJ get for Coleman?

Why are you comparing Coleman and Boeser?
Everyone knows Tampa overpaid for Coleman because Coleman had a fantastic contract. Same thing that's going to happen to Hagel this year.

Buchnevich got traded for a 2nd and Blais
That means Boeser for a 2nd and Zacha

Use your brain lmao

Couldn’t see the Devils putting a 1st in any trade. They need to keep stocking up on picks and prospects. I like Boeser and it’d be a great fit, but I don’t see this trade happening.

The 1st Coleman got in return was in the 20s. The 1st that Calgary gave up for Toffoli will be in the high 20s. The devils 1st rounder this year will be top 5. Now bear with me, cuz i havent done the math on this yet, but i think a top 5 pick is way more valuable then a 1st rounder in the mid to late 20s

If you're going to use trade comparables, at least use them correctly
Comparing players who are different ages, have different contracts, etc makes zero sense

What did a 26 YO winger RFA Pavel Buchnevich get in return?
What did a 25 YO winger RFA Sam Reinhart get in return?

Difference is that Boeser wants to stay and the Canucks don’t need to move him. If you Boeser, it has to make sense for Vancouver. Zacha as a center piece is truly laughable

What does a player wanting to stay have anything to do with his value?
I’m sure Buchnevich wanted to stay in NY but he got traded

Are you gonna complete disregard all of the stupid statements you made before and just overvalue Boeser because you’re a biased Canuck fan and have no logic in why Boeser is worth that much?

Buchnevich - Blais, 54th
Reinhart - Levi, 31st
Boeser - Zacha, 37th

Very fitting comps

Sorry but your pov is comical. Everybody knew Reinhart wanted out. Did that help his trade value? Of course not. Teams are calling about Canucks players, not the other way around.

We don’t really know if this is true or untrue though. If there is talk about him signing QO and walking, that’s usually an indication that a player does not want to return (or at least doesn’t want to return at salary being offered).

For all we know, Boeser could be the “locker room cancer” that was often talked about earlier in season. (It’s usually someone who is not getting paid, is it not?)

Okay then explain to me this
Buchnevich get a 2nd and a bottom 6 player (0.84 PPG in the last 3 seasons before the trade)
Reinhart gets a LATE 1st and prospect (0.76 PPG in the last 3 seasons before trade but played on a terrible team)
But somehow you want an Elite prospect++ for Boeser (0.77 PPG in the last 3 seasons before trade)

If course he would. He wants a long-term contract offer. He is not going to say, “not sure I want to be here, but pay me”.

I believe the Reinhart and Buchnevich comps are fitting ones.

If Canucks fans want to use a more favorable one, than Max Pacioretty deal to Vegas is probably what I’d use. Habs got an NHLer (Tatar) a B/B+ prospect (who turned out pretty well) and a 2nd round pick.

But all in that same range.
