2022-2023 opening night roster

Let's say we got Nemec 3rd overall

I'd feel comfortable with these and I genuinely think that all of these deals makes sense. Give me your thoughts about the trades or player choice etc...

The Blues are NOT doing that. Again I ask, how does Chiarot's "value" magically keep rising? He's not even playing right now.

He's currently injured but may play tomorrow. Blues does have a hole on their left side and a 1m Chiarot comes in really handy. It is an overpay but Chiarot is the type of defensemen that gets you through playoffs with his physicality. David Savard last year got pretty much the same return even though he was actually more costly in terms of $. To have watched them both play this year I can tell you right now that Chiarot is indeed a more useful defensemen than Savard. Remember that teams do overpay at the TDL even if it's not the pure value of a player

Lehkonen for two 2nds is fine, assuming that's the best offer, but Nemeth coming back makes it a pass.

Tbh I couldn't care less about a 2.5m dman for a couple of years. He can still be somewhat serviceable and I doubt Rangers give this kind of package without giving a contract back. Nemeth coming our way is more than fair.

Most of these are fair, a few that aren't though. If you like I can elaborate

Do not expect Chiarot to get more than a late 1st, even with 75% retention. He is not as good as all the Montreal fans are pumping him up to be. Kulak is far from worth a 3rd

        Chiarot trade is fair.
Lehkonen gets more or else Habs keep him, lehky is the perfect player for every lineup, therefore hughes only trades him for 1st + 3rd. Nemeth costs a 2md to dump, therefore you should take out the 3rd, and add lundqvist and kravtsov and give the rangers a 3rd to make it more fair.

        Kulak trade is fair.
I don't know about the Detroit player, I can't elaborate.

Petry retention should be taken off, and habs not interested in LD, maybe poulin + maniscalo + 2nd is more fair. For petry without retention.

        Vlasic costs a 1st + 2nd to dump, and Hoffman gets 2nd + 3rd. So 1st + 2nd + weissblatt + vlasic is fair.

        Paquette doesn't return anything

Lehkonen can bring back similar value without that element though, which is why it's a pass. Taking on Nemeth is fine, as long as he isn't used to block development at LD. (Which all of Bergevin's coaches were guilty of to some extent.) It's just not necessary unless the return is significantly higher than what we could get elsewhere.

The Reserve List & RFA contracts are all unrealistic …
Taking Vlasic is like THE WORSE idea

Oi vey... so much just plain wrong here.

        - The Blues want a 1st pairing guy, not a wildly overrated trash rental when there are so many better options out there.
        - Chiarot has been utter trash this season.
        - Savard's return was a 1st and a 3rd, not a 1st and a 1st rounder who has only grown in value since being picked. Not the same at all.
        - Savard, who has a better portfolio than Chiarot, was traded in a seller's market. This year is a big buyer's market.
        - The Savard trade was a bad trade. Everyone knows this. You can't pick a terrible value trade and pretend that is the gospel of all gospel comps.

Besides, Army does NOT have out 1sts for rentals, and certainly not for trash rentals. This is no secret.

        Chiarot trade is fair.

You simply cannot be serious. And yet you definitely are. Get real, bro, that;s not even remotely close. Chiarot is not worth either of those pieces, let alone both.

Good grief already with this nonsense.

Oi vey... so much just plain wrong here.

        - The Blues want a 1st pairing guy, not a wildly overrated trash rental when there are so many better options out there.
        - Chiarot has been utter trash this season.

I have no idea if Detroit would trade Van Pottelberghe but he was a Holland pick so I doubt Yzerman is to attached to him. You can at least give Detroit a 4th for him.

There is literally an article about how Doug Armstrong doesn't want to go after a high price rental on the Athletic. In that same article it says they will have contacts with other GM about players but probably won't go for them unless the prices drop.

First of all, HILARIOUS. Secondly, the above trade, which you called fair, is waaay above a 1st and a 3rd.

And I don;t care what he'll get (which will NOT be a 1st & a 3rd, mind you), he ain't getting it from the Blues.

Joren's agent has said that there's been interest from Detroit in signing him for next season. If that info is accurate then I don't think they'll trade him, he's been playing well this season.

Stop with the Chiarot hilarity PLEASE. lol it's actually become a joke amongst most active viewers... especially MONTRÉAL fans. You can find them everywhere laughing about trading the God tier defenseman Chiarot for a 1st. MONTRÉAL fans know it's ridiculous...
