I think Lehkonen is a safer bet.

Avs have liked Lehkonen for a while, and historically when its known sakic likes a player, he circles back on them until he gets them. He did that with Ian Cole, Burakovsky, Kuemper, Namestinkov among others. When his group identifies a player of interest they really are hounds about it

Beauvillier. They liked him in the duchene talks. Tough to say. Sakic isnt there for smaller deals like Chara or rentals like Chiarot (there is no way they are interested in him)

Words were that Chiarot was held out of the lineup until he's traded, and now he's surprisingly playing today. Maybe that's what Sakic is here for (or not).

Chiarot doesnt fit the avs mold, they have one of the deepest analytical departments in the league and influence what the avs do. Chiarot doest align with anything the avs do, poor skater, poor passer, poor at zone transitions.

They have what Chiarot does in a lesser version of Jack Johnson already. I cant see how Chiarot moves the needle at all for Sakic and his group. They would know stylistically Chiarot is a bad fit

Yeah it would surprise me as well, but it's still odd to see magically Chiarot back in.

Petry would be a player that would drag sakic to a game. That is a major decisions. Chiarot doesnt need his attention

I dont see a world where petry fit capwise for the avs.

that's why he would be there, for a trade that isnt a simple just add. Sakic isnt being bothered for Lehkonen and Ben Chiarot of the world, that is why pro scouts and analytical departments exist

Im not saying they are trying to get Petry, im saying deals of that magnitude are what get GMs to games. Beauvillier would be a target like that. Petry, Andersen, even Dvorak. Those impact the team and roster more than this year

I Dont know about GM not going to game for players like that. I mean if my first round pick is potentially in play, i would want to see the players im trading it for and not just look at stats sheet. I'm sure GM moved to see even lesser players. But who knows who he is scouting in the end. i have a feeling ut might be beauviller more than lekhonen.

1st round isnt in play for players that are not worth first round picks

hate it to break it to you but Chiarot isnt a slam dunk for a 1srt round pick, despite Montreal fans parroting that for months now.

oh i agree he will probably be traded for less, but if the GM is asking for that first round pick (appenrently thats the ask), you might what to scout the players to see if its worth it ( which i dont think it is but that another story).

they can ask that all they want, Sakic and the Avs arent forced to pay bad prices for players who wouldn't play in their top 6 or Top 4 D pairings.
I can guarantee you that Joe sakic isnt going to pay or has ever throught about paying a 1st round player for Lehkonen or Chiarot. Sakic is stingy and patient, he isnt getting Ito nonsense bidding wars bc of what teams feeding the media are claiming about their prices

you live on another planet when it comes to montreal player values. You think avs have to add to Barron for Lehkonen. Yikes

He's spitting dumb things at a 44 post a day rate don't mind him. In my humble opinion, if Sakic is in the game and it's well known he likes Lehkonen like a crazy ex girlfriend, it would mean a final 'take it or leave it' offer's been made by Montreal and he's there thinking to pull the trigger.

IT could be just to take a look at Lehkonen again, or it simply can be avs are on an eastern road trip, buffalo yesterday, Boston tomorrow, so he decided to catch a game on his way through New York.
Avs didnt have anything going on today so why not check out a game

It's not even about fights more than just him giving his reasoning behind it. He's been saying for weeks he'd come up with an article explaining in depth why Toffoli was worth Pelletier and a 1st, never seen it and just saw about 80 more posts of him talking down trade suggestions in other ACGMs because he actually think that any trade has to get his proof of approval.
