Why are you paying a package to Vancouver that mirrors Jack Eichel?

Canucks pass, as Pirrer LeBrun has said "The Canucks message to other teams on JT Miller is very clear: You have to step up in a mmeaningful way to get their attention or else they're very happy to keep him" This package was already reported to be on the table for Miller and Van didn't bite, think Schinder is a must

Toffoli didn’t went for an overpay and we could have kept him … maybe Lehkonen goes for a 2nd, who knows at this point

It still was a good offer and it wasn’t at the TDL so teams weren’t very desperate yet and that’s why I would’ve waited a little bit to trade Toffoli

I really think MTL only deals Lehkonen if a 1st rd pick is involved, or the prospect is a stud.

I like Lehkonen, but I don’t think teams give up a stud for him, so I’ll circle back to my initial thought of the Habs wanting a 1st.

They don’t “have” to trade Lehkonen, because he’s an RFA this summer.

Yet the last thing your GMs want to do is lock him up like Armia. How many anchor contracts can you fit?

I thought the package Vancouver turned down was just Kravtsov-Lundkvist-1st?
This offer is literally built like the Eichel package but with Chytil and Kravtsov (2nd + 3rd) instead of Tuch (1st + 3rd).

The issue with it is the package doesn't fill our needs, Lundkvist is another Small Offensive minded dman which doesn't help us, Chytil is another Left Hand enter and will be stuck playing 3rd line his whole career in Van, he already isn't having the best year with NYR, yes he is playing 3rd C there but he would be here as well so i don't see that improving us either, Kravtsov doesn't have the most value in the world and him having attitude issues really scares me to the point where i would rather pick over him tbh, now this being based of Echiel i disagree Vegas gave up a blue chip prospect in Krebs and ppg Roster player in Tuch Van isn't getting that here, at the time of Echiel's trade there was concerns about his Neck which dropped his value, I think Van really needs Schinder as the starting point to listen to a Miller offer

Way overpay

The 2022 1st is a given. But its a late pick. Adding Lundkvist + 2023 2nd is not enough to get you Miller, especially with 50% retained. At his full cap hit you might be close.

Kravtsov & Chytil are throw ins worth virtually nothing to VAN, who has better players in its system already.

Two reasons:
1. Potential career ending neck injury
2. $10m cap hit

Both guys are ppg players.

Two shots at a Cup with Miller at $2.6m is worth a lot.

5 pieces for Miller is an overpay anyway you look at it. And if Chytil and Krav are just "throw ins", why do you want them? Rangers give you a very easy no thanks. Shop Miller elsewhere.

Eichel is a better player than Miller, but quite a bit.....he is younger....and Vegas gets him for 4.5 years. Miller isn't worth what Eichel got, even with the uncertainty of his injury.

I don't want those players, as I said, VAN already has better players in their system. Adding more pieces to a trade doesn't make it any better. If NYR calls VAN asking for Miller they will have to give up better prospects or players than Lundkvist, Chytil and Kravtsov.

Vancouver can ask for that but they won't get it.
