I don't know why the AVS would want Parise.

Why would the flyers send the 3rd to retain salary for a player your gonna get?

I would guess that Colorado would be the team giving another pick for a third team to retain salary.

Matt Steinburg is one of the more off-the-radar prospects in the Avs system, actually having a great year. He’s at Cornell and they didn’t play at all in 20-21. 11 goals & 25 points in 23 games so far this season.

There's no reason to get Hamburgler. If you're down to him, your toast anyway. Parise also doesn't make sense to me, especially if the Avs get Giroux.

I do think you're in the neighborhood on the Giroux trade, but Arizona won't be the team to retain. If Philly does 50% and takes Compher, that should be more than enough anyway.

Is this a joke, Colorado is the one sending the 3rd for Arizona to retain. Philly is already retaining 50% on Giroux they're not sending another 3rd for another 50% retention makes no sense. And your proposal doesn't get Giroux at full value let alone 50% Flethcer wants either Barron or Jost in the deal. Compher is meh and that's not even close for Giroux.

Flyers fan here. I've heard Helleson's name brought up on twitter and some other places as well. I can see this trade happening, but what's the book on Helleson? Could he step in and play next year for PHI? What's his game and upside like?

No
He's about 2-3 years out depending on if he wants to finish NCAA and wait it out for Free Agency
He's a good Big body who can skate well i'd describe as somewhere between a #3/4 D and #4/5 D
Basically he's what PHI hope Meyers would be but smaller

He will probably be good but he's gonna need time
LAK has all the RD stock piled to the AHL into NCAA
BUF also has a few veteran options likely available

Petry's available and Klingberg as far as Vets at the top of the list with experience looking for a new home
But PHI rebuilding so youth seems logic i'd figure

Not enough for Giroux. Add a better prospect to go along with the first to "start" a trade offer
