If that’s all it took I would be ok with it. But we’re talking acquiring a player with an extra year of term at 50% retained. In the tight cap world we live in, that ain’t happening without a ransom.

Liljegren would be of interest from the Canucks. Maybe Liljegren, Amirov, 1st? for Schenn and Miller 50% retained?

Id like that, If Schenn was a better puck mover. The problem we got is that Muzzin needs a guy who moves the puck well, but can also defend well too. Liljegren is young, and he's gonna learn and I think he could be that guy in another year or so. Lyubushkin was brought in as a bottom pair physical presence, with shutdown ability, and although the leafs like mean players, we already got one in Lyubushkin now. I think at this point, TOR is going to be looking at a guy with term but one that doesn't require retention, like Brandon Hagel in CHI. As for defense, well... that remains to be seen. My guess is that they're also gonna be looking for a puck moving defencemen with term, whose RH and has a cheap contract + term.

I liked the idea of Schenn before we got Lyubushkin, but I don't think its a fit anymore!
