Don't think two third line wings and a low 1st is equal to Boeser. VAN could do better.

Boeser is hard for the Canucks to trade because his qualifying offer for next yr is pricey. They should have moved him last season, he would have gotten them more with an extra yr left on his contract.

They should just keep him if moving him doesn't bring good enough return. They don't have massive cap issues.

Or Vancouver doesn't trade him for a pile of garbage and re-signs him to the sweetheart deal he is reportedly willing to take?

It's not Boeser's best year. But that third liner is doing well and Pens should probably keep him. Doesn't do much for VAN at their state.

That "third liner" is not doing well, hence why pens fans are trying to trade him. I get it if it doesn't do much for Van in their state but the value is definently there, and Kap isn't a third liner he just happens to be the 3rd best RW on Pittsburgh rn (Rust, Carter). He's a 2nd line winger and so is Boeser, and I think a first is more than enough to make up the difference.

Kappy's producing like a good third liner. He's a second liner in a weaker team, but he's not more than a mid-6 winger.

Boeser is a top-6 one. Probably the best at a solid 2nd line, but can take a 1st line role as well.

In my opinion there's a clear difference between Kappy and Boeser, and a low first is far from enough to compensate on that.

5v5 this year Kapanen has more points 45% more points, so if you say he produces like a good 3rd liner than Boeser produces like a good 4th liner. This comes with Boeser spending his most amount at 5v5 with Miller and Pettersson, and Kap spending his with Zucker and Rodrigues.

Im sure if Kap had those consistent teammates and played PP1 he may out produce BB. Now don't get me wrong I think BB is better than KK but by how much? Marginally. Relax w the KK slander

Saying Boeser is marginally better than Kapanen is stupid in my opinion, because at the end of the day Boeser's weakest year in his career, which this one is, is still likely ending up better than Kapanen's best year of his respective career, which was a while ago. There's a big difference between the two.

Your analysis of their performing is Kappy having a typical year for a third liner that is pretty much average for his standards, and a meh top-6 year for Boeser which is bad for his standard. As for linemates, well VAN has sucked this year, Miller's been clearly above the rest. I mean even Rodrigues has equal points to Pettersson.

Furthermore, why would VAN move Boeser with his performance being not ideal? They will lose on value if they do that which doesn't make much sense.

Kapanen's a mid-6 winger. That's not slander towards him. It's been that way throughout his career. Mid-6 wingers are best suitable for a third line role.
