Kings decline, Fiala would need a long-term extension at a favorable cap hit to maximize his value.

In this imaginary world where the wild sell off everything, yes

Should've kept it in that imaginary world

You think that's the reason why you're going to get destroyed? Every single one of these trades is heavily lopsided in favor of the Wild.

Dude stop. We aren't trading kaprizov. The same way we aren't trading dumba to add on to it for a prospect and 1st round pick. Zuccarello isn't waiving

Just so I’m clear, you are saying the wild would decline the Kaprizov deal?

I mean the Kaprizov one is the only one that is *really* bad, I'll admit that all day.

Unsigned Fiala is not worth two A prospects and a 1st round pick.

To be fair, in this imaginary world where the Wild tear down and trade Kap, Zucc actually may waive for BUF to continue playing with his pal.

Not saying I agree with anything listed here, but claiming Zucc won’t waive is a little flimsy in the context of everything else happening here.

I am saying kaprizov is our franchise and they're no deal a team like wild should take to move him. Never said anything about this proposal. Wild also will not rebuild, so it simply doesn't matter

Just a sabres fan here trying to understand your explanation up there.....you think the wild, the minnesotta wild, are bad. You think 65 pts on 47 games with a +40 goal diff is bad? And they will be "bad" for a long time.....because Boldy, Rossi, ORourke, and Lambos are hopeless and ek hasn't taken steps to being a solid #2c @ 5.25 mil for the next 8 years. GFY

Unsigned or signed is no different when LA has the cap to sign him long term. Villardi and Faber are not A prospects on any board I have seen. From the athletic rankings they were actually both B/B- Prospects. Villaridi is 22 and still doesn't seem to have his feet in the NHL so not entirely sure how you would consider him an "A" prospect with the fact that "A" prospects are players that are supposed to be playing serious NHL minutes at 20/21 years of age.

That's not true at all. Fiala can accept his qualifying offer or opt for arbitration and become a UFA next summer and there's absolutely nothing the Kings can do about it.

Robitaille and Blake have both said they fully intend to take their time with all of their prospects, so "big minutes in the NHL" doesn't mean anything. Sure, they could have thrown him to the wolves in the NHL like the Rangers did with Lafreniere and Kakko, but we're all seeing how that worked out for them. Vilardi is absolutely destroying the AHL right now. Just watch the highlights from Sunday's game against San Diego.

If you think that Vilardi and Faber are B/B- prospects, then you'd have no problem with accepting Madden and Grans instead.

Villaridi is 22, Laf was 18, there's a 4 year difference there. Grans, yes, Madden is a tier below the other 3 so no. If you wanted to take out one and replace with Grans, sure. The B/B- level was Vilardi Grans ****emo Faber Spence, so any 2 of those 3 and a first and you pay Fiala 8x6 and he takes it immediately and you have a first line winger to play with Byfield.

LA has one of the best (if not the best) prospect pools in the NHL, and according to Pronman, ****emo is the 4th best prospect in the pipeline, behind only Byfield and Kaliyev, and at the same level as Brandt Clarke. Vilardi comes in right behind at #5. Not sure how that qualifies as B/B-.

NHL Pipeline Rankings: No. 5 Los Angeles Kings have a crushing lineup of prospects

Unless Fiala agrees to an extension before the trade, there's no way LA gives up a haul for him. Even if he does, the best LA does is two of those guys and a 2nd, or one of those guys and a lottery-protected 1st. If that's not enough, then Minnesota should keep him as LA isn't interested.

I'd rather not hear you out. Not only are these deals ridiculous on so many levels but you also completely lost me once you justified why the Wild should ponder this idea with "if we are going to suck for the next 3-4 years..."

The Wild will be absolutely fine and are drafting at a very high level right now. There's no reason to give up a franchise talent like Kaprizov along with everyone else

That is an old article, look for the one posted on Feb 9th 2022 where the Kings are actually #2 in the NHL behind only the sabres. Lots can change over time, like graduating Kaliev out of prospect status.
