Ok well yeah, Girard is obviously better but Jesse fits solid needs for colorado as he is a great driving force in the top 6 so in your opinion what pieces would need to be added for this to work?

There is no way this idea gets off the ground: girard holds more value than this

JP is not betting a top 4 dman in a trade, this is not a reverse hall for larsson

I just dont think there is anything that EDM could reasonably add that would get COL to accept this tbh. Puljujarvi is good but he would need to improve quite a bit to get Girard in a trade imo

I'll take a stab here.

First off, I think even the coming off season is too soon. Colorado has Byram, Barron, and Helleson on the way, but until Byram is healthy and more seasoned AND one of the other guys is ready, Girard is very important to the team.

Let's say a lot goes right with the guys above and it's 2023. I still don't think the Avs do it without a big add that Edmonton might not be willing to go for (e.g., Broberg and then balance from there).

In other words, I personally just don't see the fit on this one. It's an interesting idea though, so I do appreciate that part. Have always liked Puljujarvi too, so I would be happy to get him (just not for Girard).

You’re talking about adding SIGNIFICANTLY to even be taken seriously by COL. Nobody wants to hear it but Girard is as good or better than Chychrun

I wouldn't personally wanna do this but Hollaway matches that definition exactly but he would be too valuable to trade away

Girard is super good and I would love to have him on edmonton it's just annoying cause I know there's a fair deal somewhere but it's just hard to find

Hollaway doesnt move the needle either, hes just a high end prospect. Avs are not selling off Girard for risk of futures and guys hitting their potential

The short answer, edmonton does not have anything that the avs would want for girard. Hollaway, Yamo, JP. Those are your best options and they dont have the impact that Girard has.

I don't think it's as bad a concept as people are making it out to be.

I have to agree with this one though.
