Explain in detail in as short of a paragraph you can manage: why will the Habs suck/go off this upcoming 2022/2023 season? Why do these trades sound absolutely utterly whacko-jacko delusion-worthy nutso-cracked out dingdong what on earth? Why? Elaborate. Use your noggin.

i dont think sj is the spot for savard, when EK is healthy hes pushed out and thats also an insane amount of money for them to have tied up in defensemen

You would have to take koskinen back in an allen trade. I'm not sure if edmonton would do the trade just because allen is a bit inconsistent.

fair point, I think Savard is a genuine 3rd d pairing. A very expensive one at that, but thats his true potential IMO. I figured Savard would have the Brent Burns mentality.

Makes sense. Koski has a cap hit that undesirable but I feel like a tandem of Allen and Smith is just the inch they need to move to be a truly dominant team. If we're being honest, Edmonton should probably go for someone more consistent but who is that?

No the sharks don’t need or want Savard and that contract, certainly aren’t taking him on by giving up a 3rd. We can take him off your hands for a pick if you so wish.

Edmonton could retain to make the cap hit going back even for montreal. I think edmonton is trying to trade for someone like varlamov or ville husso. There are not any goalies for sale that are good enough.

Dvorak isn't someone I'm interested in. Ideally, all we need is someone who would be an upgrade over Gaudreau at center in-between Boldy and Fiala. But that person at a minimum needs to be as good as or better than Gaudreau defensively but better offensively (hands, scoring ability), and better in the face off dot.

Frankly, Dvorak has been worse than Gaudreau in all three of those areas this year significantly enough that he's not a upgrade. Someone like Stastny, however. Would be.

Dvorak is a relible young 2 way center on a manageable cap hit for the next 3.5 years. On a terrible Habs team and with covid, hes still expecting to put up similar numbers than what hes used to. Don’t see Montreal trading hime for anything else less than what they paid for a couple months ago tbh. They’ll keep him if they can’t get better than that.

I don't think Minnesota would take Dvorak for free. His 4,5 million AAV really messes our already difficult cap situation. Acquiring Dvorak essentially means having to let Fiala or Dumba go.

Oilers don’t need a 5th goalie.
