Easy no from the hawks, not even close. Even if you ignore what's in the trade itself, the hawks would never allow Cat to go to a team in the division.

DeBrincat's 9M QO in 2023 is really what stops this deal from the Avs perspective. Hes a good enough player and is young but theres no cost certainty there. Half of the reason why Girard is worth so much is because of his contract, and the Avs will need good value contracts while they are competing

Honestly EDM is probably better off targeting Chychrun instead of Girard for D help. Hes available for trade and ARZ would likely want prospects and picks in return which EDM already has, so they dont need to involve a 3rd team. Just a better trade fit imo

Hawks wouldn't even email or call back with this kind of offer; terrible return for a top 5 goal scorer in the league that's only 24 years old a couple months ago.
