Description

Leafs make a big splash and trade for JT Miller with Muzzin on the LTIR.
Muzzin comes back at some point in the playoffs.

After the season, Leafs trade Miller and recoup as many assets as possible. Effectively making him a rental.
My trade is to the Rangers for Kravtsov and a 1st (and a 5th because the Leafs have like no picks)

You're effectively trading a 2nd + Hirvonen and replacing Amirov with Kravtsov for 1 playoff run with Miller.

I think it would be an amazing move.

You could change the prospect to someone else. I was thinking Kravtsov would be a good fit on the 3rd line next year. Leafs are gonna lose 2/3 of Mikheyev, Engvall, Kase. If not 3/3.

Prob Mikeyev and Engvall I think Kase gonna come back hes been good this season.

Well why would't just trade with Vancouver and have Miller for two playoff runs> The reason is simple, the Rangers have no cap for Miller this year, and even less next year. Really any trade to Miller to cap strapped teams really isn't possible without similar cap being sent back to Vancouver.

Heck even this year you've put Muzzin or LTIR, and there is no reason to think he on LTIR all season, which saves the Leafs cap. Leafs would have trouble getting value for Miller this summer without so many good teams at the cap and the only teams that may want him are contenders . Sorry the Leafs acquiring another big cap player for futures doesn't make cap sense

Vancouver declines. The Rangers have prospects that fit Vancouvers needs, Toronto, not so much.
