I mean, I don't hate it, but I also don't particularly like it (The Kapanen trade). Think I'd prefer pick(s) or prospect(s) for Rakell, and then to try to upgrade the lineup this summer. I don't dislike Kappy, but unless you're moving Silf somewhere, it's basically like 3 full lines of 3rd/4th liners. Also, might as well keep D-Lo to continue punching guys in the face.

Florida trade-I'm in. That's a lot of pieces though.

I agree with @Lenny7 — I’d rather have picks for Rakell than Kapanen and keep Des as well

The Rakell deal is terrible IMO. Rakell may only be a complimentary winger and has a tendency to float around, but he's still a very capable scorer (in the right situation). Stick him on a line with a top C on a more successful team and he'll flourish. He certainly isn't a play driver, but he is capable of turning it on at times. Kapanen is a huge downgrade from that and the rest of the deal is just filler. Easy pass.

The Lindholm deal is respectable, but I'd pass. Would prefer a player closer to the league and someone less risk attached. Lindholm is a legit top pairing D-man. Some people are criminally underrating him because the team is bad. He's a legit shutdown option who plays big minutes and has years left in the tank. I presume any move would be discussed with Lindholm to ensure he's happy to stay at said team, so the excuse that he's a UFA and therefore worth less is weak. He's a trade and sign deal. IMO, ANA should do all they can to keep him.

Would the trade be better if you got Tippett instead of Denisenko?

Unfortunately not as he's a little older than I'd like and hasn't really secured his position in the NHL. Give me Tippett's size and numbers on a 21 year old and I'd bite. Sadly, outside of Lundell, I don't think FLA has a prospect I'd take for Lindholm. IMO, Anaheim needs less quantity and more quality pieces coming back, even if that means downgrading 1sts to 2nds and/or taking back salary. That said, if Lindholm was to force his way out, I'd take the deal you've presented.
