Boeser in Forsber gm Out

Created by: herzausstein
Team: 2021-22 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 23, 2022
Published: Feb. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Overview:

Nashville acquires Boeser for a premium. Last years first, this years first, a good prospect (Campbell) and some other assorted picks

Nashville then turns around and trades Forsberg + Ingram to Edmonton. Ingram is nhl ready and replaces koskinen for much cheaper. Next season they can roll with Stuart and Ingram and hopefully get smith to retire. The retention in Forsberg allows them to go shopping for a d man if they want.

Nashville gets Foegele and broberg as compensation for Forsberg and Ingram (basically the equivalent of a first and 2nd round pick).

Lines:
Boeser replaces Forsberg on the top line
Jeannot moved up with Joey and Kunin to form a very heavy physical line with a scoring touch

Foegele replaces Jeannot on the third line to keep it as a vey physical line with some scoring touch

Bring Glass (or Novak) up to center Tolvanen and Tomasino as the “fourth” line. Should be very dynamic with some real scoring potential.

On defense, next season starts with broberg and Myers as the third pairing with boro as the 7th dman. I think broberg would compliment Myers playstyle.

Goaltending
Re-sign koskinen cheaply as backup to Saros. I think with a lesser workload and a stronger defense infront of him, he will be just fine.

You are benching him anyways so just have Myers in the trade. Im willing to bet Vancouver would prefer to add someone who can play with Hughes

I'm all for the Edmonton deal here, just don't think Nashville goes for it, and the issue with Ingram, although he's NHL ready so if Skinner, and NOBODY will likely touch Smith's deal for next year and I doubt he retires-which if he did Edmonton still gets penalized for the $2.2m in cap space because of the 35+ contract...

I think NSH could do better, if they're trading Forsberg.

Ah forgot about the +35 contract issue. I guess I just figured Ingram would give them two young nhl ready goalies that could help push each other. It probably is a little light of a return for Nashville but along with boeser I like what Foegele + broberg does for Nashville in the scenario and I didn’t want to get greedy.

Myers is in the long term plans. He’d play next year with broberg as I think they’d match well with each other
