Wouldn't break the bank. 2023 3rd instead. Fine with that.

i thought we'd all collectively agreed kessel wasnt the piece we need? kessel is at worse a downgrade from lafreniere/kakko at this point, and at best he barely makes a difference

While not the top Offensive threat available, I think he still has value.

Not only is the cost to acquire him less, but he can still distribute the puck rather well. Put him on the top line where he can feed Zibenejad and Kreider. Think it could work well enough.

A 4th is fine.

Only problem here is whether Winnipeg wants to move Copp. May want to keep him around if the are shopping Scheifele.

Nah let Laf sink or swim in the top 6. Hes never gonna develop if hes stuck playing with Barclay Goodrow and Greg McKegg/Julian Gauthier on the 3rd line. Stick Kessel on there to create some offense. Kessel on the top line also means the other guys have to pick up the slack defensively since Kessel play defense.

yeah but thats so unnecessary

kreider - zibby - laffy is statistically as good as guentzel - crosby - rodrigues, while being better defensively. their numbers arent far from tkachuk - lindholm - gaudreau, or bunting - matthews - marner, why tf would you break up a line like that?? also whenever kakko comes back, he should slot into the 2RW slot nicely, back when he used to play there, their numbers looked very solid, so it should work very well.

our one achilles heel is the 3rd line. i like chytil, i like goodrow, but we could really use a solid defensive center who can win faceoffs, and has offensive upside. someone who isn't too expensive, but could slot in to the top 6 when needed. someone like philip danault
