I’d imagine the sharks want a lil something else. Taking on cap while giving up the better goaltender with another year is going to cost more.

Petry does not want to go back to Edmonton.

I also don't really like it for Montreal even before Ducharme got fired and Petry started playing like his normal self.

I doubt that either Petry or the Oilers have much interest in one another. If moved, the player would probably prefer to head back to the US and that is just fine. The Oilers have to continue looking for players that provide what the team needs and who want to be part of the organization.

Most teams in Ottawa's situation might seriously consider taking Turris's contract for the rest of the year. They can bury most of his AAV and get a late draft pick for next to nothing. That kind of thinking is incompatible with the manner in which the Senators seem to operate. Its also why the Oilers probably have that kind of trade further down on their list of priorities right now.

Unless Doug Wilson is feeling particularly charitable toward Ken Holland, there really isn't any motivation for the Sharks to help the Oilers out. Both Reimer and Koskinen trade lists that place some restraint on their respective GMs. San Jose enjoys a much nice climate and friendlier tax regime than Edmonton, Reimer is 33 and probably resolved to the reality that he is not going to get a shot at a championship in his remaining years in the league, why would he accept a move to Edmonton? Koskinen is also 33 and probably pretty worried about his next contract. He's going to want an opportunity to showcase himself, and the Sharks simply aren't a very good team this season. Why would he want to go to San Jose? Besides, Reimer is under contract for one more season, and San Jose really likes to hang onto their aging assets beyond their best before dates.

Ottawa has a couple forwards coming back from injury, there’s really no room for Turris, as much as I’d like him back.

3rd to take Koskinen and then another prospect with the second for Reimer since he has another year. SJ does not need to trade Reimer.

His salary is $1,650,000, and $1,250,000 can be buried in Belleville. Player AAV is pro-rated over the season, and there are 20 regular season games left after the TDL. A deal at that time would have almost zero impact on Ottawa's salary cap. It makes no sense for the Oilers to pay to move him. They can simply leave him assigned to Bakersfield once he's off IR.

Cap space is an asset. if you want someone to use it for you it will cost you assets. considering 17 teams are using LTIR then its a Buyers market to sell that space.

If Ottawa didn’t sell their cap space this season, that’s a pretty good indicator that they aren’t selling their cap space. There’s no room for Turris, and Melnyk doesn’t buy draft picks.

No means no, which means no, so it’s probably a no, this isn’t that difficult to understand, Ottawa says no

If your attention span allows you to focus long enought to read through the 3 sentences that make up my comment, you'll learn I suggest the Oilers not offer the Senators that deal.

Ottawa has room for 5 more contracts and could easily take on Turris and assign him to Belleville immediately, and let him sit in the press box for the rest of the season. However, his cap hit is so low, especially at this point of the season, it would be asinine to offer them that deal, and moronic to turn it down.

Total MOOT point, you guys are arguing for nothing. Melnyk wouldn't approve Turris being back in his organization

You’re full of crap. It states, “buried in Belleville”, not buried in Bakersfield. This is what you are arguing for.

If you don’t think Edm should offer the deal, then why keep arguing for the deal.

Even now, you’re still arguing the deal.

Ottawa doesn’t need Turris in Belleville, just to help your pathetic team, for the absolutely irrelevant addition of a 6th round pick, whoop-de-doo.

Keep posting your crap, it’s pathetic, and laughable.
