Montreal has no use for Legasson and the 2nd clearly is not a 1st, therefore you are not meeting the price set out by the Habs and you are not getting Chiarot

The whole point of taking Koskinen back in a trade for Fleury is to equalize the cap hits as much as possible, so I don't see Chicago retaining so much.

I doubt that the Islanders are interested in either of those players.

The thing all these Chiarot haters don't realize is that it is not Montreal that will be making the calls, it's their teams. Montreal set a price if it's not met by the deadline then Hughes will take the best deal available, if it is then we get a 1st + good prospect and one teams Chiarot haters are going to be disappointed.

Devils decline, but I can appreciate that there's actually some value in the offer, unlike most McLeod trades.

Palmieri's M-NTC were filled with Canadian teams when he played in NJ, so I can't imagine he'll waive for EDM. It's a pretty weird trade anyway though.

Isles will keep Palmieri if taking on Smith and Barrie is what it costs to move him. He's played pretty well this year, has just been wildly unlucky imo. Smith and Barrie are dead weight as far as I'm concerned, Mayfield and Palms are not
