What's the whole Armia to SJ Montreal fans keep putting in. We don't really need him.

Sabres don't need a goalie THAT BAD to give up one of our most promising wingers, who is also close to the NHL. And then again RHD is our weakest spot organizationally. And somehow I doubt Price waives for BUF.

If we trade for a goalie, it'll be in the vein of Mrazek, Dreidger, or maybe Korpisaalo/Husso. A cheap-to-acquire, somewhat established NHL goalie to play 1A/1B with UPL next season and maybe split starts. There's zero incentive for us to drop serious assets on a goalie trade unless a GM is having an aneurysm and offering us Demko/Hart/Knight/Oettinger at a reduced price. Our other two goalies in the pipeline are the best in the NCAA this season, and we're not gonna be an elite team anytime soon. We can wait.

Don't think it would be wise for the sabres to trade for a goalie making 10m

Absolutely nothing unless Montreal retains 50% and we send future consids. You aren't getting a blue chip prospect and a pretty solid RHD prospect for a goalie who is injured and has a terrible contract

More like a **** no, especially for that level of compensation with no retention on that insane contract.

Washington very much declines, Samsonov is better than Allen and Washington would be foolish to take on Hoffman's contract with the cap barely moving and having to figure out an already tight cap situation with Orlov, Jensen, Fehervary, TvR, Samsonov, Vanecek, Sprong, Hathaway, and Sheary all expiring in the next 2 years.
