How will you afford next off-season WITH Muzzin?

I think Mayfield has to go straight up for a 1st. I'd say a 2nd & a prospect might work but there's really no lining up between the two teams - Niemala & a 2nd would feel like an overpay, and TML's prospect pool gets shallow real quick after the top 4/5 guys.

As far as the Chych deal, it's not awful but it needs more. Swap Dermott in for Holl so you're giving them back a young roster player, and upgrade Villeneueve to someone in the Amirov/Abruzzese/Hirvonen tier. Arizona might ask for another 2/3ish pick, but I think giving them a 1st, one of your top 3 prospects, one of your next top 3, and a roster player is a good place to start. I would just be worried that another team with a deeper system would be able to match the same framework and have better players to offer.

I think you need to swap Holl for an actual impact roster player that fits the timeline like Liljegren or on the lower end Dermott or Engvall

Villeneuve should be switched to either hirvonen, knies, or Robertson.

Liljegren has been playing like a beast, I don't want to trade him at all, especially at such a young age.

Mayfield is better. and still young and signed cheap. the leafs have 3 years of matthews left before he potentially leaves. best to upgrade everywhere to try to get that cup
