Are you going into a rebuild? if not it's not crazy. Strome's looking better, you can switch D prospect if you'd like, and a third back isn't crazy if you're trying to compete next year. But maybe a little more value could be added

That’s 4 games without a point for Strome. I think he’d play well with Hall & Smith though but he’s definitely not a special layer.

You seem to like him. I see it as they need help down the middle and given top six minutes he produces. I was upfront saying it could be a stretch but given a package around him a late first round could be had in my eyes. It all really depends on what Boston thinks of Strome. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

Leafs pass on the price or the player?

2nd round pick even at retention is too much for something the Leafs don't need. If you are doing this trade because Muzzin is going to be out for all of the playoffs then I can see why, but a 2nd is still too much for DeHaan

Understandable, I was thinking they needed help on the backend and saw some posts for trades around him from the leafs. A second would be the absolute top return he'd get but I do think it's possible. If not he should bring back a third and a toss in just based on trade history of Dmen on expiring contracts at the deadline. He's not flashy but he can be a great number 4 dman for a team that is looking for that piece to put them over the edge

Agent_Of_R9 on his way to try and convince everyone that Chicago should get rid of Strome for virtually nothing

So many better ways to spend a 1st and get much more value for it.

I mean your 1st for Debrusk/McFaul/3rd. Doing it?

No because our pick will be top ten which is the big difference. Late first is a 30% chance of playing in the league

Lol, that math isn’t even close. 30% is more like 3rd round.

Since 1975 only 1 Boston 1st round pick never played in the league. A Russian goalie who came over to NA briefly played 14 games in the AHL and went back home. 1 in 50 years.

To play significant games. It's a crap shoot but good luck finding better value...you've clearly hit on your first round picks recently...

Only had 2 in the last 4 years 1 looks like a stud. The other will play in the NHL. 🤷🏻‍♂️

8 players from the draft have played in the NHL. A 20 goal scorer, 3 defenseman playing key roles. A young goalie serving as backup for a good team. Most would consider that a successful draft. So much better than plenty of other drafts.

How was yours? Dylan Strome over Marner and pile of All-Stars. Graham Knott 2nd round. Dennis Gilbert. Lol. Glass houses.

Not everyone would agree he looks like a stud. and having three first round picks in that draft with the only one showing promise demanding a trade....not great

Lysell very much looks like a 1st line ceiling.

Zboril was their best LD man before the ACL injury this year.

Senyshyn was the only bad pick. Was a reach with so much talent on the board. Had they picked anyone else there, nobody would say boo about that draft.

Lysell floor is not in the NHL so nothing to count yet. The point is your late first round pick isn't very valuable. I know from experience, maybe you remember those 17 seconds smile

Their are Tiers to the 1st round for sure. Boston has only had 4 picks in the top tier in the last 20 years and a couple of those came via trade. 1 was Zach Hamill picked 8th, played 20 games. Pasta was 25th 🤷🏻‍♂️. Draft is a crap shoot.
