Why is Brown spending his last couple years with us?
    Doesn’t make sense

And that’s a lot for Fiala

    How are they keeping Huberdeau?

Bobrovsky probably doesn’t waive because he doesn’t give a **** if buffalo plans to buy him out or not. He doesn’t have to agree to be traded, he can basically tell Florida to kick rocks. Also, if a second round pick from Edmonton is the best you can get for Olofsson you might as well hang onto him.

    How are they keeping Huberdeau?

Great question… let me explain. So Huberdeau has a contract for 1 more season, so 1.5 in total including this year. With Barkovs 10M extension, that’s probably what Huberdeau is going to get. So… if you look at cap friendlys cap hit statistics, they will have 26.7M in cap space. Let’s say Huberdeau gets 10M like Barkov, that would leave them with 16.7M left over. Guys like Nutivaara, Gudas, Hornqvist, and unfortunately Weegers contracts will be up. Out of those 4 I only see them resigning Weeger, so let’s say he gets 5M. That would leave them with 11.7M after those two signings. Of course a few prospects would be up to fill in those missing spots for the guys that got let go. Hornqvist I believe will get traded before then, so they can afford Barkovs contract. With Bobrovsky only having 3 years left by then making 10M, some team may want him if he is still good. If not, they can definitely make it work. If my math is correct, they will have 11.7M in extra cap to sign UFAs, or resign their RFAs, if they want more money. They are NOT cap strapped, and can make it work if they let it play out, and run it the way they have been.

Oh my no. The bob buyout may be 5.75 this upcoming year, but it's 6.5 for the following 3. A late first doesn't begin to cover that. I assume every 5 million in retention is worth a mid first. Of course Florida can say pound sand, but frankly, the pegulas aren't throwing money around on the Sabres anymore, if they are writing that check, it better be for a lot more than a late first. A lot more. I'm not moving olofsson for less than a first, and I have heard the Sabres front office won't either. I wouldn't bother with Fiala, we have wingers coming. What we don't have is right d. Any kind of deal that is moving high value futures should be for a right d. Hoping the Sabres get a center at one, and then draft all right d.

They sure as heck don't have to trade Bobrivsky to keep Huberdeau. And even Buffalo isn't dumb enough to eat 8 years on Bobrovsky on a buy out.

Someone said that's a lot for Fiala, and maybe it is, but Wild still pass on this deal Mitts still has a lot to prove. Johnson is a prospect at a position the Wild are already fully stocked up at. The Panthers 1st will likely be very late, and the same will likely be said about Vegas. The 2nd in 23 is fine but it's a 2nd.
It's probably a over pay but just probably not what Billy is looking for.
